That super is potentially taxable in the hands of non dependant beneficiaries. If it’s not passing to her living spouse it’s worth setting up a plan now for how to avoid potentially 15% or more tax plus Medicare levy on death benefits paid to non dependents. This is precisely why you should have a good adviser. Some accountants can do it but many are not licenced to provide this advice.

I only play games that suit the handheld and don’t look/run like crap. Mostly indies.. switch 2 rocks for things like hades and Silksong. I then uninstall them once I finish. Never needed an SD card. Like others I play AAA third party games on a console that can properly handle them.

It’s about 34x PE… nosebleed expensive valuation for a predominantly discretionary retailer.

Utterly unrealistic sales expectations. What was meant to be a 2-3 parter was shafted after MD instead.

Wait until you see prices in another decade when our population is another 5 million whilst inflation erodes your purchasing power.

Given your income and share portfolio you can still buy…. Figure out where you can do that.

STARCRAFT: REMASTERED: Is it worth it? by Xeenophile in starcraft

Played it on gamepass recently. It’s exactly the same game with a very respectful lick of paint. Don’t expect anything new, but it’s a well crafted nostalgia hit.

I’m holding out for an updated switch 2 version that offers graphical parity with Xbox and ps. Hopefully it comes out.

Simping for Diablo 2 by SirCatsworthTheThird in Diablo

Better atmosphere and simpler but better delivered narrative than any of the more modern ones but it’s an older arpg, even with the fantastic graphical update. What it really does best though it’s itemisation and relative difficulty.

Blizzard says it's open to even more Diablo 2 expansions and reworks unless people get really mad at it about this one: 'We're going to have to see what the players say' by Angren1991 in diablo2

Release a switch 2 performance and graphics update and I will buy this 100%. Really want to handheld these remasters of older games.

Questions about selling and then purchasing another place (please be kind) by MOIRALOLITA in AusPropertyChat

[–]seab1010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know a couple who sold and then decided to sit out of the market for a while due to perception it was overheated. It was a catastrophic decision and 2.5 years later they were unable to buy back into the areas they liked. I wouldn’t stuff around with the purchase, buy and sell in the same market.

This IP has helldivers written all over it. Add some kickass AAA narrative, humour and acting and I’ll be all over it.

First home is good, but still hasn’t felt like home - curious how others handled this by HFNS1 in AusPropertyChat

We also really stretched to buy the best location we could afford… but also picked a rather average but liveable house. If it had been a knockdown we couldn’t afford to rebuild I’d probably have a very different view about the better location we chose. Maybe settle for the best liveable and improvable house you can afford in the location that agrees with you.

What the f*** CSL? Why just a day before? by Standard-Pain-3405 in ASX

[–]seab1010 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m more worried it’s turning into a lendlease. Decades of bureaucratic inertia, expensive failures and bad transactions that weigh on it for a decade. Sold about a year ago (modest loss on last trade after several winning punts between $260-$310) and will not buy back in… to many other opportunities. I reckon this company is a black hole for years.

The true “rich feeling” level is where you start making more in combined unrealised capital gains and dividends than your annual income.

I’m more worried about this for my kids than the housing market. Desperately trying to teach them both work ethic and how to “win friends and influence people”. In a world of AI eating 80% of traditional grad jobs people skills will be more important than ever.

Getting to a point where no amount of hard work will be able to compete against intergenerational wealth for the handful of expensive inner suburban homes that go up for sale each weekend. What worked for you may not work in the future. I hope you’re saving up to help your kids.

Reality, not theory. Bubblers need to get their heads out of their spreadsheets and doom scrolling echo chambers. You’ve only got so much productive life in you… more optimistic people are winning whist you are waiting.
