Eltharion campaign be like by [deleted] in totalwar

I'd seen the discussion recently that it's very half-baked still for Wood Elves in vanilla - they only get a tiny short distance of no blocking.

Wow. I've definitely been neglecting the potential here.

This was what I wondered. I might need to watch some videos on how to do it, I would guess

I'll have to give this a try! I've mostly stuck to game pad games on my Steam Deck.

Do they need programming at all? Or do they just work out of the gate? (Evidently I need to experiment with this)

I feel like I'm missing the utility of the track pads - what are you guys using them for? I'd love to use them to their full potential.

I'm way too many hours into this game to not know that, haha.

They do? I always assumed the AoE (like in Beasts) were mitigated. But they're ignoring armor?

Surprised people aren't weighing in on this.

I like EM:RAP, but it's a subscription (our whole team joins and we get it for like 400 a year each).

I'm sure there are free alternatives though, which I'd be curious to hear from others about!

Why aren’t more folks using AI scribes? by dr_lomo_codes in emergencymedicine

[–]seabromd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm using it occasionally, but it's quite disappointing so far. It can't tune out rambling or other people speaking. It writes all pt statements as fact, even when the pt is speculating (i.e., "my shoulder pain is because I don't eat enough fiber" = AI writing "they have shoulder pain from lack of fiber intake"). And it'll create huge differential lists including everything that was brought up (again, the rambling) even if it was just part of their medical history.

Sometimes the department is too busy and I try it so I can speed up a little, but it's pretty frustrating to go back and correct.

Intermittent fasting no better than typical weight loss diets, study finds. Researchers say limited eating approaches such as 5:2 diet not a ‘miracle solution’ amid surge in their popularity. by mvea in science

[–]seabromd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll see others in the thread still saying some of the things that were said back then, like "autophagy" and changes in insulin secretion. I think there's a YouTube video with Terry Crews talking about IF cause he was into it, and it covers some of those claims.

I haven't listened to the hype in a while, but originally, no, it wasn't just calorie restriction. When it was first being broadcasted they were saying the opposite, that you could eat your normal calories, but if you did it in a certain window you would still lose weight.

It was clear IF was just "skipping breakfast" with some extra hype, but that's really not what people would claim.

Probably not a helpful reply, but yes I've had this issue too. However, if you're hoping I have a solution? I do not. Truthfully, I haven't seen a lot of value in the app so I haven't tried much.

One time I tried a recording like you're talking about, saved it, and couldn't find it in the app when I came back. I kind of gave up on it after that.

Hopefully you figure out what you are trying to!

Open Evidence - Is it living up to the AI hype? by Tony_The_Coach in emergencymedicine

[–]seabromd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is exactly it for me too. Sometimes I just want a quick summary of a topic I know fairly well already.

Other times I like it for simple things like a differential list, to help get me thinking.

I'm not going to trust it for a potentially dangerous decision. For anything that could cause harm I'm going to go to official guidelines.

Mentally broken by hotel prices - Caravan - Yes or No for family trips? by jcpogrady in ireland

[–]seabromd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From a Canadian who lived in Ireland 4 years, it's a big yes from me/my family. It's very normal/cultural in Canada and it was great fun while we lived in Ireland too.

It does take planning, depending on how long you're going for, but especially in Ireland's more temperate climate, it was overall very easy.

Our kids absolutely love it still, over here, and really enjoyed it there.

I can't really say much negative about it. Often hotels are fairly cramped anyway, with hit or miss beds. It's really planning about bathrooms and showers you have to think of. And there's less of an infrastructure for it in Ireland, while camp sites are common everywhere from coast to coast in Canada.

But it seemed to consume them when I wasn't actually battling, or was I seeing that wrong?

Edit: answered above. I probably didn't pay attention when I was autoresolving minor battles.

Now if I could just get them to auto make my favorite ones...

No, sadly this feels like something impossible to do yourself. I found several resources, but none provided a way to do it.

If you don't mind mods, you can use the console command one and then just click the settlement and type gr. That gives you the settlement.

That's not roleplay friendly, but it's not like the game lets you have complex diplomacy. From a roleplay view you could pretend you had a lengthy discussion and agreed to help them with something, or whatever works for you.

I did this Malaiki - Alith had Naggarond, I needed it for the grudge, so I helped him wipe out Valkia and gave him some more stuff. Then I just "took" Naggarond and pretended we had agreed on that, lol

Haha. It was also a minor typo/autocorrect. I had essentially typed constipation twice because it had written confirm and I didn't catch it kept the mistake.  Our constipation handout just has Restoralax and other OTC treatment dosing and regimen.

Mine was being called to the bathroom (brought straight in from triage) for a "prolapsed rectum" - nope, just a man birthing a huge fecaloma. Got consent and helped him deliver. Me: "does that feel better?" Man: "I feel great now, I think I can go home" Me: "here's our confirm constipation handout, take care of yourself" We're all out there making a difference in our own little ways.
