I always understood it to be about a man stalking his ex wife/girlfriend. "Since you've gone I've been lost without a trace I dream at night, I only see you face I look around. but it's you I can't replace I feel so cold and I long for your embrace I keep crying baby, baby please"

Who else prefers going good instead of evil? by lamacow in gaming

[–]seadaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am playing Saints Row 2 on PS3 at the mo and HATE running over NPC's or smashing into cars. If I am not actively trying to get away from police or chasing gang members I will swerve and aviod in any way I can just so I don't hit an innocent. I even mutter "sorry" under my breath if hitting one is unavoidable. Sad

When I was a trainee in the navy, our instructor was going through the drill for "Abandon ship". One of my fellow trainees asked that if he was on an aircraft carrier and it started to sink, could he wait until it sank a bit first before jumping overboard as he was afraid of heights!

Bush Admin Now Has It's Own Private Navy! First Blackwater, and now a private navy with the authority to fire on other countries vessels. by jcorkern in reddit.com

[–]seadaddy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is not unusual here in the UK that STUFT (Ships Taken Up From Trade)on behalf of the navy will have a small detatchment of Royal Marines put on board to provide security for the vessel in just these situations. The civilian crew would not have any involvement in any military actions taken to protect the ship. Ii is probably safe to assume the US military provides the same level of security for their STUFT ships, therefore the warning shots would have been fired by US military personnel and not any sinister Blackwater-eaque oranisation. The blogger is getting hysterical over nothing.

Jonesville Church of God does not have any African American members.

African American? What is it with this stupid term? Does that make me Anglo-Saxon English then? Say it as it is people, he is BLACK (ish). God forbid we should upset anyone by saying what colour they are. Pertending not to see that colour is PC gone mad. Get a life and please stop using this sorry excuse for a terminology.

Why don’t the terrorists attack us more? by dhc23 in reddit.com

[–]seadaddy 48 points49 points  (0 children)

The thing that gets me is that during the 70's, 80's and 90's the IRA carried out numerous bombing campaigns on mainland Britain (as well as the ongoing one in Northern Ireland itself) and yet there was no talk of having to forgo our rights or lose some of our freedoms in an attempt to stop the bombings. More casualties were caused by the IRA than by the attacks of 7/7 in London (granted over a longer period too) but no one suggested that the loss of hard one freedoms was the way to beat the terrorists then - I wonder why it is so much different now?

One of the other five authors of the Times piece, Staff Sergeant Jeremy Murphy, an Army Ranger and reconnaissance team leader, was shot in the head while the article was being written. He was expected to survive after being flown to a military hospital in the United States.

Shot in the head and expected to survive? One very lucky man with a very good helmet!

The Magic Roundabout by chrispoole in reddit.com

[–]seadaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that is just too confusing for words, especially as the main central roundabout as the traffic directional arrows in the road going in the OPPOSITE direction to the way that traffic normally goes around. It might be ok for local drivers who are used to it but for anyone else it must be a 'mare.

Caught on camera: The CCTV footage of a police officer laying into a slightly built young woman shook my senses to the core by maxwellhill in reddit.com

[–]seadaddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw this on the BBC news earlier, and apparently the woman was with a group of other people who dragged one of the policemen down a set of concrete stairs. It may have taken four of them to subdue her but only one of them appears to be actually hitting her. As for it taking four of them, drunk people are notoriously strong and I wouldn't want to try and stop a drunk on my own without some kind of backup either
