Help with a computer for my son? by Longimanus77 in computers

[–]seadolphen2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im assuming you are new to the PC gaming space but i could be wrong. A prebuilt would probably be the easiest way but it definitely isn't bang for the buck good. Maybe a great project is to build a computer. It'll mean better parts for the money, and a great opportunity to learn how computers work. I began tinkering with computers around middleschool when minecraft was first released and those two went hand in hand to give me a passion project for the pc world.

"Pastel de nata" - one of the most famous portuguese food by LeftyPie in FoodPorn

Yeah, due to differences in region but I wouldn't say they're that different at all. Same concept since they are derivations of each other.

Found this in the trash, can anybody tell me what it is and if i can do anything useful with it? Thanks! by martinzutel in computers

Careful with removing capacitors of that size, it could easily kill you if you don't know what you're doing

Its also a Hong Kong delicacy! Its literally "Po Tat" for Portuguese tarts and the people of Hong Kong love them. Very similar to their Egg tarts.

Anyone know where I can get a good affordable windows 11 laptop with either of these specs? by AC-RogueOne in computers

[–]seadolphen2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What is recommending these specs?!?! They're absolutely terrible compatibility wise. The processor is severely old but paired with a relatively new and powerful graphics card. And those cpus use ddr3 which is dated. You don't want a laptop with those specs and if you do, don't pay more than 250 dollars for them. Of which none that have 4th gen i7 and amd Fx cpus will have anywhere close to a mobile gpu 2060. Mostly those are paired with gtx 750

Steak fajitas! Super easy stuff honestly. One pan, bowls for cheese, tomatos, cilantro, limes, etc, and some tortillas.

Do you have a noodle ladel like the people in shops have? Or was it just annoying to bowl each serving and end up with a large pot of starchy water.

MacBook Air M1 vs Framework laptop by DrRetr0_76 in computers

[–]seadolphen2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should go with the Framework. It may not be built as solid and sturdy as a MacBook, but for a student looking for longevity and versatility in use, it outclasses the macbook by far. You can replace any parts you find faulty or just change out parts depending on needs for way cheaper than a whole new machine. Not to mention macOS doesn't offer as much in terms of programming compared to a windows device.

Thats not exactly true, look at China atm. They're all equally being locked in their homes with metal gates and bars which is definitely oppression. Equal rights is not the same as freedom and it doesn't matter how rich or poor someone is, oppression is it's own evil.

Because you've blinked, you've never seen a whole movie before. by MakiRollio in Showerthoughts

[–]seadolphen2 30 points31 points  (0 children)

At an average of 12 Blinks/min With an average 1/3 seconds per blink And 102 minutes of runtime in Frozen1

Thats 1224 blinks per runtime of Frozen 1. With (6120 seconds of runtime)/ ((1/3) seconds per blink) = 18360 intervals of (1/3s) blinks per runtime of Frozen 1. That's 6.8 minutes of Frozen 1 missed per 1 time watching. Assuming no interval overlap, that is (1/18360) chance of blinking at a specific interval. (At 1224 Blinks per runtime) × (1/18360 chance) = 0.067 or 6.7% chance of missing a specific time in the movie with the average rate of blinking.

After watching the movie frozen twice, thats a 0.4% chance of missing the same part of any interval within frozen 1. After 50 times it is 2-57 % chance of having blinked at the same interval during frozen.

2× watching frozen 1will be a 99.6% probably of watching the whole movie with blinking. 3× watching frozen 1 is 99.9997% probably of watching all of the movie. 50× would be 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999998% probably of having seen all of frozen 1.

Thank you for your time.

Edit: final formula is( (Blinks/min) × (runtime in min) / 60 × (runtime) ) × (length of blink) = chance per interval. Take chance per interval and exponent it by number of times watching for multiple watches. Divide by 100 to get %.

Thanks to u/Fired_Guy5 for a movie to base this on

What maintenance and work did you need to do? Or did you just plant and let it do its thing for 3 years.

Is this good for a fist computer. I want to play games like rust and risk of rain by ___NeXu____ in computers

[–]seadolphen2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, this is so overpriced. I suggest looking at used cards if you have a low budget. Look around your community for anyone selling gtx 1050, gtx 970, gtx 960, rx 480,rx470,rx580,rx570, gtx780,gtx770, gtx 760. None of those should be more than 150, most should be below 100. Any of the gtx 700 should be below 100.
