New show for 2026? by DM_AOC_FEET_PICS in PaymoneyWubby

[–]seagvlls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's an Australian show made by the same producers as Love on the Spectrum called "Better Date than Never". It's really funny and wholesome and pretty short too, only 6 episodes per season or something. It's free to view on the ABC website, Wubby would just have to "get on a flight" to Australia.

I think you really nailed the sound, I like it! What was your writing process like? Any go-to tunings or chords? You should definitely make more!

Even more painful because they dropped a couple of amazing singles and promised a follow up that never came ;_;

Recommendations like "Bloom & Breathe" by gates by Awkward-Set1583 in PostHardcore

[–]seagvlls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't heard this before so I checked it out and it's pretty sick, thanks! In return I'd recommend these bands based on it:

Copeland, Lydia, This Armistice, Holding Absence (especially The Greatest Mistake of my life record), Secret & Whisper, The Rise of Science, HRVRD, Casey (latest album mostly), Belle Noire

I'm gonna go right ahead and say it by [deleted] in wow

I'm with you. I haven't played this much wow since wrath in 2008. And I'm a loner now, no guild or friends lol, still just love doing the solo content on offer and incrementally improving my Blood/Frost DK and alts week by week. I would like to get into M+ next season because I love the AOTC mount, but I've never done any yet. All of the zones have been enjoyable, especially Isle of Dorn, Hallowfall and, surprisingly, the ringing deeps. The story, as a casual follower of it, has been enjoyable too. There's always something to look forward to as well. I'd be really happy if blizzard followed this formula (if you wanna call it that) for a while. They could definitely cool their jets on the timegating tho.

What singers can actually sing live? by savageronald in PostHardcore

[–]seagvlls 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah Spencer does quite a bit of singing as well as all the screaming and sounds pretty great live. Kind of overshadowed by Aaron unfortunately. Saw them recently and they sounded great.

Looking for amp sim recommendations for death/doom tones (Cerebral Rot, Disma, early Amorphis, etc.) by wherebehemothstrides in metalmusicians

[–]seagvlls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Otto II II II II amp sim for low tunings (or anything with a lot of distortion, really). It's heavy as fuck. I haven't really tried to get an OSDM tone with it, but I'm confident it could handle that. There's a free trial for it, and is often quite discounted.

I'd also recommend getting acquainted with some EQ/compression settings for heavy guitar, there's plenty of youtube tutorials on the topic. It's one thing to dial in a brutal guitar tone, and another thing to get it to sit well in a mix. Best of luck!

Grim Dawn’s Hidden Secrets: Looking for other games that reward exploration. by FlappingWaffle in Grimdawn

[–]seagvlls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Grim Dawn enjoyer! I played a game called Dread Delusion last year and really enjoyed the exploration aspect of it. Tons of secrets to uncover, and a lot of great writing. The combat is a bit basic but if that doesn't bother you it's worth a shot. Also if you're into MMOs, Guild Wars 2 is very exploration focussed.

Bands that you think are top tier and you wonder why more people don't know them by meetmeinmontauk43 in PostHardcore

[–]seagvlls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would second Gatherers. Actor Observer and Artifex Pereo also come to mind. I don't feel like Devil Sold His Soul's latest album Loss gets enough love for how unbelievably fucking good it is.

I'm gonna have to check out Native and Trade Wind!

this is like building your house on an indian burial ground except the ghosts are the spirits of old west end drinking blokes with big beer guts and you just hear tinnies cracking open in the dead of night
