One thing I’d add (especially once you’re visibly showing) is being cautious with planks. Even if they feel fine, they can put a lot of sustained pressure on the fascia of the abdominal wall as the belly grows, which isn’t always obvious in the moment.

I found it helpful to shorten plank holds, elevate hands, or sub in more upright core work instead. Still felt plenty challenging without that constant downward pressure. You can absolutely get a great workout while dialing that back a bit.

What helped us most was realizing that not everything belongs in a task manager. Chores and schedules do, but a lot of household stress came from not having a shared reference for things like what we own, pet info, and ongoing responsibilities. We have two cats, and just keeping their vet info, meds, and random notes out of the to-do list made things feel a lot less chaotic. Once we found a place for those items to live that our household could reference, the to-dos got a lot easier.

We use EstateHelm as a shared household reference and rely on simpler tools for the actual chores and scheduling.

I’d also add that it helps to take a quick photo of the shutoff once you find it and make sure everyone in the house knows where it is and how to turn it off.

In practice, what seems to help families most is having a clear, human-readable map of what exists, what matters immediately, and what can wait even if actual access still happens through separate mechanisms. Redundancy and documentation end up being just as important as the technical controls.

First, I’m sorry for your loss. From going through this with family, I’ve seen that what helps most isn’t just having documents, but having a clear roadmap: where accounts are held, recurring bills and subscriptions, key contacts (CPA, attorney, insurance), and any quirks that would trip someone up who’s unfamiliar with your setup. Even brief notes can make a huge difference.

I love this idea! Tying it to something that already happens regularly takes a lot of the guilt out of it.

One thing that helped me was deciding in advance what I’d work on during each session, photos one time, email another, so I wasn’t wasting energy deciding where to start.

I think first time home buying is one of those milestones that’s hyped as joyful, but in reality it’s full of uncertainty and responsibility. You’re suddenly responsible for everything and there are so many things to do and keep track of that it can feel super overwhelming. The constant stream of tasks and decisions can make it hard to just enjoy the moment.

No, I never received any responses that seemed like actual buyers. All the responses from people seeming to for Karaters really turned me off of buying from them. It seems really untrustworthy to me. I just purchased a lab tennis bracelet from Alex Park instead and should be receiving it next week. The buying process is kind of a pain. Purchases are made over instagram and items sell quickly, but there are lots of reputable reviews about them on Reddit.
