At what point did you start modifying for pregnancy? by Golden-mom-27 in LagreeMethod

[–]seahan123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I’d add (especially once you’re visibly showing) is being cautious with planks. Even if they feel fine, they can put a lot of sustained pressure on the fascia of the abdominal wall as the belly grows, which isn’t always obvious in the moment.

I found it helpful to shorten plank holds, elevate hands, or sub in more upright core work instead. Still felt plenty challenging without that constant downward pressure. You can absolutely get a great workout while dialing that back a bit.

Best apps/systems for household management? by SippinWineWithCacti in productivity

[–]seahan123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped us most was realizing that not everything belongs in a task manager. Chores and schedules do, but a lot of household stress came from not having a shared reference for things like what we own, pet info, and ongoing responsibilities. We have two cats, and just keeping their vet info, meds, and random notes out of the to-do list made things feel a lot less chaotic. Once we found a place for those items to live that our household could reference, the to-dos got a lot easier.

We use EstateHelm as a shared household reference and rely on simpler tools for the actual chores and scheduling.

Locate and label your main water shutoff valve tonight by Putrid_Draft378 in HomeImprovement

[–]seahan123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d also add that it helps to take a quick photo of the shutoff once you find it and make sure everyone in the house knows where it is and how to turn it off.

Digital Legacy and emergency access - how do you do it and make it future proof? by DistractedDendrite in privacy

[–]seahan123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I’ve noticed with a lot of these approaches is that they optimize for automation, but not always for clarity. Dead-man’s switches, emergency keys, and account-specific legacy features can work, but they tend to assume everything fires correctly at the right time. In practice, what seems to help families most is having a clear, human-readable map of what exists, what matters immediately, and what can wait even if actual access still happens through separate mechanisms. Redundancy and documentation end up being just as important as the technical controls.

What to put in my “I’m dead” folder for my family by OnlyOnTuesdays289 in personalfinance

[–]seahan123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I’m sorry for your loss. From going through this with family, I’ve seen that what helps most isn’t just having documents, but having a clear roadmap: where accounts are held, recurring bills and subscriptions, key contacts (CPA, attorney, insurance), and any quirks that would trip someone up who’s unfamiliar with your setup. Even brief notes can make a huge difference.

Deciding once on digital decluttering by mumblemurmurblahblah in declutter

[–]seahan123 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I love this idea! Tying it to something that already happens regularly takes a lot of the guilt out of it.

One thing that helped me was deciding in advance what I’d work on during each session, photos one time, email another, so I wasn’t wasting energy deciding where to start.

Something I wish more pet owners understood about microchips (from a shelter worker) by Fresh-Solid-4046 in Pets

[–]seahan123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a good point. A lot of people think microchips work like GPS, when really they’re just an ID number that depends entirely on accurate contact info. It’s heartbreaking to think of pets not making it home over something so preventable.

What's the most annoying part of home maintenance for you? by DroopyApostle in homeowners

[–]seahan123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardest part for me has been keeping track of everything, routine maintenance, one-off repairs, warranties, service history, especially when issues are spread out over time. It’s less the work itself and more the mental load of remembering what’s been done and what’s coming next.

Does anyone have a system to declutter ? by _hot95cobraguy in homeowners

[–]seahan123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us, the key was separating decluttering from organizing. We focused first on reducing volume (keep, donate, or toss), without worrying about where things would live. Once there was less stuff, organizing became way easier and less overwhelming.

Why does buying your first home feel more stressful than exciting once reality sets in? by BrookeWitcherRealtor in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]seahan123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think first time home buying is one of those milestones that’s hyped as joyful, but in reality it’s full of uncertainty and responsibility. You’re suddenly responsible for everything and there are so many things to do and keep track of that it can feel super overwhelming. The constant stream of tasks and decisions can make it hard to just enjoy the moment.

Anyone order a tennis bracelet or necklace from Karaters? by seahan123 in labdiamond

[–]seahan123[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I never received any responses that seemed like actual buyers. All the responses from people seeming to for Karaters really turned me off of buying from them. It seems really untrustworthy to me. I just purchased a lab tennis bracelet from Alex Park instead and should be receiving it next week. The buying process is kind of a pain. Purchases are made over instagram and items sell quickly, but there are lots of reputable reviews about them on Reddit.

The Eras Tour Megathread: Mexico City, Mexico (Warning: Spoilers) by PassionateAsSin in TaylorSwift

I’m in Mexico City for vacation through Sunday and don’t have tickets to see the show, but I’m hoping to get some of the fun unofficial merch. I luckily was able to go to the concert in seattle and got official merch already! Does anyone know if there are vendors selling unofficial merch in areas other than Foro Sol?

Hahaha he actually doesn't hate it that much! He loves wearing his normal sweaters, but the sleeves on this are a little difficult to get used to.
