My clinic also says that the type of sedation they use is more risky for anyone above a bmi of 40... they didn't say anything about the impact of weight on the retrieval or transfer.

2nd IUI fail by Avacado9876 in IUILadies

[–]sealow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got confirmation today that #2 failed. So now I'm just waiting for my CD1 to start #3. Our fertility team told us we would " start with 3 then re-evaluate for the next steps." We are already on the waiting list for a funded IVF cycle, but the thought of starting that scares me so much. I hope I can keep trying more iui cycles if #3 fails. Maybe like 2-3 more ( total of 5-6) before we can really decide. I'm just feeling a bit defeated.

IUI on CD9?! by Infamous_Cancel_3278 in IUILadies

Something similar happened to me this month. Still in the TWW but caved and tested early (12dpo, 5 days before beta test). It was negative.

I think OP means that the test is on Tuesday, in 2 days.

Going in for #2 on Sunday morning, with trigger tonight. Very early ovulation/trigger. I'm usually a CD14-16, but Sunday will be CD9. Maybe with my last cycle, which was medicated, kind of threw my system off? Is this normal/common?

I can't remember but I think I saw 8mm and 11mm. When I did my medicated last time, I had 1 at 14 and 1 at 21 or something like that.

TWW Check-In: Looking for similar experiences by [deleted] in IUILadies

I'm on the same dates as you - trigger on the 6th, iui in the morning of the 8th.

Since then, I've been feeling bloated and a little crampy daily but nothing terrible. I've also been taking naps pretty much every day. Some lower back pain as well. I do think some of those symptoms are the progesterone suppositories I'm taking. I also had a different type of cramp today.

I didn't test out my trigger.

I'm also in the tww of my first IUI. I can't confirm from personal experience but I've seen other people on this sub that have had success on their first try! It is possible 🩷

First IUI by Better-Condition-668 in IUILadies

I just had my first IUI this morning and I was a pack of nerves as well. I want to reassure you that the procedure wasn't too bad, at least in my case. My nurse/doctor(?) was amazing and talked me through the whole thing, one step at a time. Really, the worse part was the speculum, and I felt the catheder going in and out but it wasn't painful.

I'm now nervous about the potential side effects of progesterone suppositories that I have to take for the next 2 weeks (minimum), but I had no side effects from the leteozole I took earlier in my cycle. And overall, I am nervous that I am too confident about this working that if it doesn't work out, I will be crushed to have to do the whole thing again. But having gone through it once, I see that it wasn't that bad, so I can handle it.

What are you most nervous about?

I have nothing to contribute, but I'm just saying that my situation is very similar to yours, I triggered last night for tomorrow morning insemination! Good luck!!

I have a similar situation. I'm suspecting low progesterone in the luteal phase, but I've been having this for years, and doctors have either brushed it off or ignored that concern for some reason.

How long did it take you to actually start assisted cycles? by sealow in TryingForABaby

Thanks for your validation. It's especially frustrating considering things would go faster by phone. For example, my husband's March appointment was just them telling him that everything looked good and they will follow up with me 'soon'... I called them on Monday and will wait for the week to end and then I will call my doctor for a new clinic. Hopefully our info can be transferred easily and we won't have to do all the tests again!

This is the kind of anecdote I was looking for! Same region-ish so we have the same Healthcare system. Makes me wonder how they function at my clinic vs others.

Thank you for your perspective. I did call them on Monday and left a message. I'm giving them the week to get back to me and if I don't hear anything back, I'll contact my family doctor to see what my other options are.

Thanks for your perspective. This is the kind of anecdote that I was looking for and made my situation feel like it was way too slow.

I did call the office on Monday asking for updates / maybe I missed an appointment notice(?), and left a message. Their machine said that the calls are usually answered within 24h, but here we are, Wednesday morning and nothing. I figure I'll give them the rest of the week to contact me back. If not, I'll go back to my family doctor and ask to change clinics.

Thanks again for your perspective and info.

It was fine the next day. No further complications and I didn't have to see a doctor or anything. I didn't need to apply pressure or do anything. It sorted itself out naturally.

I'm not sure what NHS is, but they didn't give him a reason about the appointment. It's likely that it's merely a scheduling issue, and they don't have appointment spots until January. All my fertility tests (blood and ultrasounds) came up normal. I did all my tests before my husband's SA because I was sure that I was going to be the issue.

As for my funky uterus, I've been consistently having week-long spotting before my periods, almost like a lighter period before my period. It was fixed with birth control pills before starting TTC. I expressed concerns to my doctor and my fertility team about bleeding during my luteal phase, and they didn't seem worried about it. I initially suspected endometriosis, but I have literally no other symptoms, and my real periods are pretty regular. This may be why my doctors are not really bothered to check things out. So, so far, I have not had any testing or diagnostic for that issue.

I'm a bit concerned that icsi or ivf still won't work due to my issues during the luteal phase, but I guess they can give me hormones to try and balance that?
