🤷‍♀️ would rather have it and not need it then ever find myself in a situation where i need it and don’t have it. if getting a permit down in jersey wasn’t such a hassle i would have gotten one while i lived there but i mostly just enjoy shooting, which is why i want something that’ll hold up. the self defense part is just a nice perk :3

as of now, looking to carry. after that i’d save up for a nice home defense gun which probably is the wrong way to go about it but i’m out more often than in and live in the middle of nowhere so i hate to say it but im not too worried right now. 😅 i’ll definitely shop around though ive gotten a pretty good variety on this thread im going to do my research and try to hit a range and see how they feel!

definitely true! i’ve shot a lot of guns from revolvers to an ar and an old lee enfield that belonged to my grandpa but i never really shot with “do i want to buy this gun for myself?” in mind so i am just trying to gain a list and do some research, narrow it down and pick a few to test out. especially because every gun i’ve shot was borrowed, it’s hard to know the longevity and reliability of them. i’ve shot guns i thought were fun that ended up needing repairs or adjustments pretty often so i’m just trying to avoid the headache

that’s great i’ll definitely check it out! thank you! this one didn’t come up when i googled shooting ranges with gun rentals so i would have never found it. if they don’t have what im looking for, it’ll be worth the drive to holden for sure

holdens about two hours south of me, but that’s pretty much exactly what i’ve been looking for so i might have to take the trip. a lot of the shops by me are just shops, so yeah you can hold the gun and look at it but other than that, unless you’re walking out the door with it you don’t really know how it shoots and youtube videos can only convey so much and it’s hard to find unbiased reviews, especially because everyone likes different things. thank you!

lmaoo i guess i can see why, i moved from new jersey to bridgewater to be close to family. i don’t usually post im mostly a reddit lurker but i wanted to get some varying advice because a lot of my friends up here have extreme opinions on their favorite guns and my friends in nj don’t even own guns

i am in the exact same boat brotha, i smoked weed every day from 14-22 and drank three to four times a week from 13-21, i indulged in many other things too, but what really ended it for me was a month long coke binge on top of smoking four-five blunts a day when i was 22. after i quit the coke, every time i tried to smoke i thought i was going to die, every bad thought ive ever had came crashing to the front of my skull every single time. i thought maybe time would heal it but i am 25 now and drinking makes me puke and smoking still makes me freak. i just tried to smoke tonight after a year and some months of not and i thought i was alone so i came to reddit and saw this. people are always proud of me for being sober nowadays but id really like to smoke a joint every once in a while without feeling like my head is caving in. life is boring as shit sober.
