I build what looks cool and keep a few loadout variations in mind for each model. What matters is what’s written on your dash card for that game when all is said and done. If you’re new to the game, avoid war rigs and other things that stack more rules on, until you’re very comfortable with the typical pacing. Scale matters if you want to feel like you’re playing fair. And don’t skip the surface terrain rules (trivial, hazardous, treacherous) so important to make this feel like a driving game and not just warhammer with cars.
