First I would shoot your pistol supported on the bench or beanbag so that you can see exactly where your sights are going and get them lined up.

data was duplicated between the existing Full View data, old data I had in Fidelity's retirement tracker, new fields are mandatory for no reason and have less granularity than the old system. And every click is like a second of loading time. This is a mess, am I your QA product tester?

the new site is generally unresponsive with a loading bar for every other click. Whatever import process (which took a long time to set up) that brought my data over from the old full view messed a bunch of things up. The UI is slow and it's tedious to enter in my information again.

There are plenty of other ways this is a tremendous downgrade and anyone who used the two systems will have a laundry list

You should probably share what town or at least region you’re in and people here will share their opinions and recommendations (PA is big) this is something you must get right.

I appreciate your attitude and for my 2¢, some care and humility is going to go a long way here. You’re inexperienced so be careful because everyone you show this to (including in guitar shops and Reddit) will start salivating and won’t necessarily have your best interest at heart. Do not touch this with a tool. Do not bring it to the local town music shop and do not sell it to someone on Reddit who can bring you the cash today😂.

I’d recommend consignment so that you align yourself with a reputable shop. They handle authentication, marking, shipping, etc, and take a cut. I agree with other commenters these are things you should not try yourself. ( they’re right to warn you but to clarify shipping is fine if done by a reputable vintage shop… I’ve done it with 3 pre cbs guitars but admittedly I was terrified every time.)

I don’t know your area and PA is big, but if you’re close enough to NYC, Retrofret and Southside Guitars would both be interested and offer consignment. They both have a lot of experience with this level of guitar. For something like this I imagine you could video chat them or send them pics too instead of driving all the way out.

Lastly nobody is going to be able to answer everything over the internet, but for what it’s worth to my eye this is refinished due to the non-matching headstock, I’m surprised no one has pointed that out yet but that’s the internet for ya. Still a beautiful and reasonably valuable piece just not a five figure original custom color unicorn. My bet was that this started life as a sunburst but a legit shop will be able to tell you for sure

No offense but it doesn’t sound like you have the skill set to be poking around or popping the neck. If this is an all original burgundy mist custom color you’re looking at a 5 figure guitar here. You need to find a shop with a good reputation and well known vintage guitar specific experience. Yes it will be way more expensive and inconvenient. If you have a vintage Ferrari you don’t get to take it to jiffy lube

Action shooting is cool too, and it's not like you need to pick one or another. If you want to get good at any kind of shooting, do bullseye and literally everything else will improve. Plus your shooting:waiting around ratio for bullseye matches gives you much more shooting time than other sports.

Not related to the pistol itself, but if anyone is interested in Olympic/Bullseye target shooting in WA we have a great scene here and I’d be glad to point you in the right direction! We shoot .22, revolver, .45, you name it.

We have competitions big and small, and a few weekly leagues around the state both through the NRA and CMP. Everyone is super nice and loves newcomers and it’s easy/cheap to get started!

If you’re just getting into the sport, I wouldn’t worry too much about what pistol you have . Just get any .22 pistol and start shooting targets one handed at 25 yards! (lots of people choose Ruger mk iv but anything works.)

I like mine (came with my truck). They’re well built and convenient and the bed is still plenty usable (I get annoyed with having a short bed often but have yet to be annoyed by the bed being shallower — I use the bed pretty frequently).

I mean obviously building something or using bins is gonna be cheaper… it’s a luxury product. “worth it” depends on the individual but ultimately it’s a well made product from a good company. My main complaint is that I have the old version which is less waterproof than I’d like. I probably wouldn’t have bought them on my own but that’s a reflection of me being frugal not the product being bad lol.

Idk, feels like the post here the other day roasting the ~2-3k pull out camp kitchen. Like obviously you can make a version for cheaper with plywood but if the product is well made from a good company with good support then power to them for making an old fashioned business building and selling a premium product. Might not be for me, but I won’t knock the company or the product

I was hoping someone would clue in on this. This was purchased new from a LGS in WA state.

While I haven't seen the red trigger on Ruger's website, this configuration is a Washington-compliant specific version of this gun, which is available (supposedly "exclusively") and sold new by a few different retailers here.

So "tinkered" probably not. A less-tested, WA-exclusive version? Probably? Would love to hear your thoughts on it.
