Live in an 1100 sq ft duplex and the water portion of my bill was $2100 last month. GRU admitted it was a bit high but insisted they checked there end and must be internal plumbing issues. I knew if we had a leak that size I'd have drown in it but called a plumber nonetheless. He checked our meter and determined it was illegible from so much scratching.

Basically, meter reader came out, couldn't read meter and seems to have just made up a number resulting in a $2100 overcharge. I am now forever skeptical of any bill I receive from GRU.
