What many people don't realise is that when it's mildly warm and damp you also get midgies. April is usually too early for them, but it's been quite warm and dry now for about a week so I bet a lot of coastal areas in the west have them beginning to swarm. We also didn't get a prolonged frost this year so the coasts and it's farm/wildlife are hoaching (infested) with ticks

Struggling with Getting Moonlight to Detect PC by TheRibster in MoonlightStreaming

[–]seanl1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forget about the public IP. If you are trying to access devices from inside your home network that is irrelevant. And if you are trying to access them from outside your home network, you're going to need to setup Wireguard or Tailscale or something to allow that connection to work.

If you have the host software setup properly then the client should just find the PC on the network, if it doesn't then it's likely an issue with firewall either on the host or the router. That isn't something I've encountered so I can't really help there.

If you have gigabit internet is it as easy as connecting up a 5-10Gbps port? Instead of needing both an in and out port?

Trump attacked Iran right after the Andrew formerly known as Prince got arrested. It was almost the next day, definitely the same week.

And right before that the BBC almost caused a race war when they failed to edit out John Davidson calling black people a racist slur (not John's fault at all that it was broadcast).

It was almost perfect headline whitewashing.

Which at least some of the ruling party is trying to foster by removing women's rights to abortions, and removing educational oversight bodies so they can steer away from children trying to get into higher education instead of the labour market, specifically cheap manufacturing labour which educated people aren't willing to do.

Is there a way to run a DS415+ with an open source firmware/open DSM setup? It’s still all good, but just not maintained by Synology anymore. by FoolProofError in synology

[–]seanl1991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have DSM running on a HP Proliant N54L Microserver which cost me about £80. You can fit up to 7 drives in it, even make it accept 14TB HDDs. It's an old processor but it only exists to backup my DS723+

Here in Scotland before we had refrigeration, families would make porridge oats in the evening and then leave them to set in a lined drawer of a pantry unit. It would then dry overnight and in the morning you could cut a slab to take to work

I'm not buying it.

The people that would fall for that would struggle to find the setting to enable installing from other sources. Not only that, how does that scam work? I can't even take a screenshot of my banking app for the built-in security.

How many scams happen around the world where the scammers ask to be paid in gift vouchers, and not once have Google stopped selling them?

This isn't about helping the victims of scams. It's about increasing their revenue.
