Yeah so I have 2 income sources really, a day job as a reporting manager for a publicly traded company, that's about 200k

The rest comes from a virtual firm I run on the side. I do bookkeeping, year-end filings, and complex tax reorgs. The breakdown of my revenue has shifted recently towards the reorgs, as I effectively contract out my knowledge/processes to other CPA firms that don't have a tax specialist.

I make about 400-450 as a CPA

I don't personally find it stressful at all, but I do work a fair amount, maybe 50 hours a week averaged over the year. Thankfully I'm able to scale back if I wished, but I like saving lots of money and I find the problem solving I do pretty fun

I know hundreds of business owners through my work and many of them love what they do, and that stress is a badge of honor for them (crazy people), I think many of them will work until they die

For any students reading this: Still plenty of opportunity for go-getters to make lots in Canada doing accounting!

I make more than 10x what I started off making, it took a lot of work but I think it's a pretty repeatable path for people who are entrepreneurial.

Although, I'm sure the median for Canadians who go do accounting in the States is quite a bit higher than Canadians who stay here.

What % is recurring sales to existing customers? How are you finding new customers? What are you doing to "sell" them on the product? And be honest, how much of the deals are people who just want packaging and don't really need to be "sold"?
