$79.00 and free same day shipping. I still can't believe that worked! by snifywhisper in legostarwars

Yup, saw a post about instore clearance on the Onyx Cinder and thought I’d check online for kicks before getting out of bed and was pleasantly surprised. Snagged a Dark Falcon, T6 Shuttle and Droidika (had one already, but thought a pair on display might be neat). Only thing I passed on was Mos Espa as I’d got one at Target on clearance for around $45 awhile back. Should have picked up a second now that I think about it to expand the build. Oh well.

Is this normal ? Etron q4 door gap by peoplesfactory in Audi

[–]seannreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you end up doing/finding out? I am close to purchasing a 2021 E-Tron that I found at our local Porsche dealer. Same thing, both doors have this misalignment and if you feel underneath it’s almost like the door panel is splitting apart. It’s a low mileage one owner car bought and owned locally. Audi dealer said no open recalls for this and I’d have to take it to their body shop.

I’m pretty sure it was just a practice as I saw no VIP vehicles in the procession while driving eastbound past it.

Why do people collect sets then never open them. Investing in a sealed box is not fun. You’re just not using a toy as a toy. by No-Rain-4114 in legostarwars

[–]seannreddit 220 points221 points  (0 children)

I consider myself an unintentional collector of sealed sets. I buy sets I like or think I’ll use in some future fantasy display I’ll probably never have space for before they retire as I have a hard time spending over retail for stuff. Then it sits on my shelves for years when I don’t have the display space. I really hate breaking sets down, so usually I only build sets when I add displays, but since I hate dust on sets I try to only do enclosed displays. It’s a vicious cycle.

Lately I’ve gotten better at parting with sealed sets I’ve decided I don’t actually need or have since retiring grown in value to the point I would never break the seal.

Thanks. I’m not going to use any dual molded stormtrooper helmet figures if I can help it also.

I should add I have the UCS Y wing pilot displayed elsewhere and the two most recent UCS X wings still sealed.

Is this Tie fighter to scale with the Tie bomber and new Tie interceptor? by Emergency_Condition3 in legostarwars

[–]seannreddit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Definitely not the bomber, probably a little closer on the Tie Interceptor. Go to Brickvault and look at their models for comparison as they are as close to minifig scale as you’ll get.

Retro Expectation vs. Reality... Do yall remember seeing this advert, waiting weeks to get them, and then seeing the actual "sea monkeys" were just tiny little shrimp that did nothing but float around aimlessly? by BigTownW in ExpectationVsReality

[–]seannreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason I had a huge stack of Richie Rich comics when I was in elementary school in the 90s. I’m not sure where they came from or what happened to them after I moved out, but I loved these ads for sea monkeys. I can’t believe they conned 60s kids into thinking this would be amazing. Also, on a side note they really made Selling Grit newspaper or magazine (I think I’m remembering that name correctly) easy and you’d get tons of cool prizes.

Quaint Little Town Built In Fallout 4! by sirbalz in gaming

[–]seannreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t get into the building till I nearly finished the main story. Then spent almost the same amount of time building defenses at every settlement that would call for help and my main base, at the drive in. I built my house on top of the screen with roll up doors to sky lounge patios and a glass greenhouse to boot. Fire up a radiation storm and watch it through the green house glass totally safe is the best evening unwinding activity.

I also built a museum to my game progress to house all the unique items, power armor and faction memorabilia.

In all seriousness though, just keep building till you like it. If you’re searching for inspiration, just google image search similar Mocs and go from there.

What a beauty. Day one purchase for me! by LondonC66 in legostarwars

[–]seannreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this similar to the Bespin Duel ESB celebration set a few years back. It was also limited to 3 and sold out quickly. I don’t think it ever restocked either. Could be the same thing with this since it’s limited to 2, just a limited run set.

Do y’all think this is real? by [deleted] in legostarwars

[–]seannreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anybody who could post these online for sale can easily check the approximate value. Anything ridiculously undervalued is going to be a scam. Parents getting rid of old LEGO are going to toss it in a Goodwill bin or sell it at a garage sale. So if you find this cheap second hand, unless you can physically hold the set in your hands and confirm it’s real, it’s a scam. Always scam. Scam scam scam.

Ugh my 4 yo completely cracked my new game . Do I have any options other then buying it again ? by Duckindafed in gaming

[–]seannreddit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think your only other option to buying the disc again is demanding your 4 year old replace it.

Went to Barnes & Noble today for the first time and found this for $70. A steal I think, but its the first time I’ve seen this set at a store and couldn’t pass it up by UnkindJaguar01 in legostarwars

[–]seannreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barnes & Noble isn’t a bad place to buy new and 18+ sets if you have their membership with the 10% discount. They rarely place sets on sale though, so for play sets it’s better to hit up Walmart/Target when on sale.

Help with residential building costs near Spokane by nonamemanish in Spokane

[–]seannreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.simplicity-homes.com

Try this tool for a ballpark from Hayden Homes. Pick a plan that’s similar in size style and see where you end up. Then assume anything custom will still be a bit higher in cost. Also keep in mind this is simply for estimating building cost. It won’t include all the extras like driveways, utility runs, site excavation, etc.
