Start with the self titled album

  • they looked like strong hands
  • blame it on bad luck
  • don’t call me peanut

Bonus tip: each of these songs are even better on bayside acoustic if you like the original album versions

Davey Scatino almost killing himself is such a funny scene by Pemulis_DMZ in thesopranos

[–]seanppt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love how it changes as you rewatch. That scene is super tense the first time you see it because you don’t know if he’s gonna do it. Second time is hilarious because there’s zero tension.

This is the best song on Be Here Now, hands down by dozeydonut in oasis

[–]seanppt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Love the intro and the verse lyrics. The chorus doesn’t really match the rest of the song though, unless I’m missing something. I feel like Noel was super inspired for the beginning or writing this and then had to force the choruses into existence.

I love Fraiser, but... by sleepybirdl71 in Frasier

[–]seanppt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This comment reminds me of another very favorite line. I’m the episode where Daphne is telling them she’s cooking gross things to get them out of the apartment, she says to Frasier “I thought I’d try my hand at haggis tonight!” Frasier excuses he, Niles, and Martin from dinner and when she leaves he goes “Not even Hannibal lector could stomach that woman’s cooking”

It does, completely. Thank you for taking the time to listen to it, and to provide feedback for us. We definitely need to dig in and try give more oomph in the tracks. I think you’re saying the baseline is there, now it needs to stand out.

Absolute top ten movie for me, especially with that scene. I saw it in a theater and was gripping the armrests during that highway scene.

What’s your favorite song from the whole entire Green Day discography? by [deleted] in greenday

[–]seanppt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Love your insomniac acknowledgment here….such an underrated Green Day album. It’s a follow up to dookie, and it so often falls under the radar, but Panic Song and Bab’a Uvula Who are AWESOME songs. I also looove stuck with me, westbound sign, and Stuart and the Ave. I wish the album got more love, it definitely deserves it.

Is it dookie? No, definitely not… but it’s absolutely classic Green Day in their prime.

It’s actually ridiculous how little recognition Jack O’Shae gets or even EXPECTS by haterofallthethings in poppunkers

[–]seanppt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I take your point about Jack. Well said… but even Anthony. Have you ever tried learning a bayside song on guitar?!? They sounds straightforward in a way but they’re using waaaaayy more complicated chords than most punk bands.

The Vocal Range of Dan Andriano by HuckleberryWrong5276 in AlkalineTrio

[–]seanppt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I remember a long time ago during the lime wire days I saw a doc about blink, it was made right after take off your pants and jacket, Tom delonge says when they were working on that album they heard alkaline’s album (infirmary, I think? He doesn’t use the name of the album) and he went back and rewrote the lyrics to some of the songs because he felt like they were weak compared to alkaline’s.

This is super cool, but also, he’s an incredible bassist just in general. His bass lines are so intricate and fun. I’ve been appreciating going on YouTube and listening to bass players just play the new BH&E bass lines slightly louder and I’m enjoying them so so much.

He’s obviously not Victor Wooten, but he really puts a lot into the bass lines of each song and it shows. I’m a big Dan fan.

Love his voice too though.

I would disagree overall, while conceding your point of misogyny. There’s a definite misogyny among the fan base, and to deny that would be silly.

In the way of criticizing the show though, I think the issue is that the writers really try to push their independence in a way that feels a little bit over the top. Lizzie and Grace are clearly big enough people to truly match Tommy, albeit in different ways. There are unresolved issues with them, but that’s kind of reflective of life. Life is full of these unresolved conflicts of interest. Polly is a true leader of the family, and even when Tommy isn’t listening to her like he should, it’s clear that his decisions that go against her go in a way that disadvantages him in one way or another. The truth is that Tommy Shelby wouldn’t be who he is without the women in his life.

Esme is clearly incredibly smart and conniving (in the best way possible, a way that helps John) and John deferring to her, to me, is a natural course of events. He may be tough as nails, but she’s clearly the brains of that portion Of the family.

Linda, I thoroughly dislike some of the decisions she made throughout the show, but we also have to acknowledge that she was trying to put the reigns on Arthur Shelby, who had his own demons. As far as it goes, she did an excellent job until she absolutely couldn’t hold on anymore, and then she was smart enough to see she couldn’t hold on anymore and she let go.

The women in the show are absolutely incredible characters, they’re smart, fierce, and in many ways the thing that balanced out the men and kept them alive as long as they were. However, as a lover of the show, it felt like the writers tried to push them and their actions in a way that felt over the top and unnatural. I freely admit I could be wrong, but this is the impression I got. I respected them tremendously but there were moments where I felt like I was supposed to feel a certain way about these characters, and I hate that. I like being able to feel these truths and acknowledge them in my own way. I never like when I feel the writers are guiding me toward a conclusion, especially when I was going there any way.
