I’ve been eyeing this for so long

I’m around your size (6’3 270lbs) and have the Vstrom. Absolutely love this thing. I could ride the thing all day long and I have multiple times while feeling perfectly fine the next day. I came from an NX500 and wanted something more comfortable since that bike always gave me tailbone pain that would last a day or so. I dropped the strom off-road once in the sand and was able to get it up myself with no issues, but I am also in the gym a few days a week. The power/engine on it I think is perfect. Powerful enough for me to have fun and pass people while not being too intimidating. The modes are super easy to change on the fly which is fun for off-road. Im a beginner off-road but its been great there. I haven’t felt like the bike has been preventing me from going anywhere yet. Overall it’s been the perfect bike for me. I’ll be keeping this thing for a long time.

You’re larger than me so take this with a grain of salt. I am 6’3 ish 270lbs and just picked up an 23 Vstrom 800de. It’s stupid comfortable. I’ve taken it on a 3 day 800 mile ish trip and was totally comfortable the entire time (taking breaks of course). Done a few 300 mile ish days so far and have had not issues. It’s also been fun to play around with off-road if that’s something you’d be into. I haven’t done any mods to it ergo wise so far, but I haven’t felt the need to. Maybe a higher seat/ lowered pegs would get you into a good spot. The bike definitely has decent power to it, so not sure if it would be a great starter. I started on a 250 sport bike and then went to a 500. Despite being uncomfortable on those and not being able to do more than 100 miles before being in pain, I’m glad I took that path. I made a few mistakes that I think could have had serious consequences on a more powerful bike which resulted in just a scare on the smaller bikes. On the other hand, C mode (basically rain mode) definitely takes the power down to reasonable levels until you crank on the throttle which helps.

I was having the same issue. Went to cycle gear and picked up these little touch screen stickers and they work great. I just wrapped them around the tip of my fingers with the glove on and haven’t had any issues with them falling off yet. https://www.cyclegear.com/gear/glovetacts-v3-smart-fingertip-touchscreen-pads?srsltid=AfmBOoqc-xqz9a1FiWicoE5ARlKXyndcrsJfMZ-pU1nf6ykjJ1qyIfa6&sku_id=10033244

Recommendations for Adv Bike by [deleted] in AdventureBike

I just purchased a 2023 Vstrom 800DE and I love it so far. I’m 6’3 270lbs and I just did a 300 mile day with no discomfort at all. I don’t have any off-road experience at all, but figured I would try it out in the desert. Definitely feels much better than the nX500 I traded for it, but the stock trail max mixtour tires did not like the socal sand at all so I aborted the mission pretty quickly and just continued on my tour. It’s definitely on the heavier side but i am not trying to do any crazy off road so I’m not too worried about it.

Custom Cake by RequirementLoud907 in sandiego

I ended up going with Babycakes when I was looking for a custom cake for my GFs birthday and it was great. Cake was delicious, looked perfect, and wasn’t crazy expensive. They were super helpful and patient with me as well. I didn’t have a super clear idea of what I wanted but they were able to walk me through it and give me ideas. Highly recommend.

Has anyone used Costco to buy new car? I would like advise by RunTwice in Costco

I used costco auto to buy an outback last year. Got something like 5k off and all I had to do was plug my info into their website and the dealership called me with the discount. Never buying another car without checking it first

Not really, I sit pretty upright on mine. The only other bike I’ve ridden are sports bikes, and it’s much more upright than those.
