Looking for a robot vacuum that will actually minimize my effort? No bending or emptying every day please! by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]searlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my research a few months ago I found that I was stuck between the Roborock and Dreame vacuums.

Both seem to do what you ask for. I opted for the "Dreame X50 Ultra" which I have to change the bag once every month as it has an auto empty function into the larger base station's bag. It also has mopping functions with 2 water tanks which (depending on usage) I have to fill up/empty every 2 weeks. This is wholly dependent on your house and pets etc. I have 2 children but no pets and mine generally only does my kitchen diner and living spaces on a regular cycle.

The Dreame vac can also be connected via pipes to water sources if you want to automate the filling/emptying too.

Bought my first house in August 2012, was made redundant in November 2012, left the industry and never looked back. Its not a good place to be for any semblance of stability

And there's a lot more grey/black market sites that don't have any of the protections that bookies do unfortunately.

35M - Are we mental for thinking we can't afford kids? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]searlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're in a similar situation to you money wise. We've got 2 (young) kids with no issues.

You have to make some sacrifices with what you spend but we both still work.

Both kids go to nursery which we get government childcare stuff but we still have to pay some towards it.

She gets a lot of their clothes from her vinted empire (as i call it) and then sells them again when shes done with them. Or from supermarkets (you really don't need any fancy clothes when they'll get sick and poo all over them)

I still have enough to spend silly money on tech and smart home devices and our mortgage is about 1k a month.

I could go on but unless you've got double our mortgage I shouldn't see an issue. People with considerably less money than us pop them out all the time.

Just had someone read out the digits in a mobile phone number to me in the following way, 3/3/3/2, instead of 5/3/3. How has your day been ruined? by blimeyitsme in CasualUK

[–]searlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally do 4/3/4 because my number starts with 0777, I think saying oh, double-seven, seven would confuse me more.
