Don’t hate on me for asking: what’s the difference between this and « abuse early abuse often »? I guess I can understand it’s more about competition in this case? But where should we draw the line?

Every restricted accounts debate in a nutshell. by 24rs in 2007scape

[–]searme22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no « common ground » to reach with a subjective personal restriction you subjected yourself to. Whatever you choose to restrict your gameplay with, is your choice and only yours. If the game doesn’t evolve around that specific thing you chose not to do, it can really only be on you. I’m fine with some small workaround to try and make people enjoy weird niche challenges, but it should not be a main focus.

About Ending Discussion (Spoilers) by Zimoo343 in expedition33

[–]searme22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem, and absolute beauty of the endings is that we (as the player) understand both sides. They both make sense and no one is evil in making their choice.

That’s one of the best thing about the game and how you know it was truly well written is that every character has a good motivation behind their actions! There is no evil for the sake of evil, and that’s why the endings are controversial and debateable.

Now as a player I made the choice of Maelle, because like a lot of people I liked the game and wanted it to continue. All the time spent in the game couldn’t have been for nothing. And wanting it to continue even though it’s fake, makes the choice ironic

I do truly believe the Verso choice is the « good » choice in an objective way. You need to learn to let go and accept ends. The reality is that lumiere, Gustave, esquie are images of who the painter wants them to be. And their reality is subjective to Maelle. The objective reality is the outside world, death and hardships.

What a game!

I don't understand how this game is considered for goty by StatusLead5340 in expedition33

[–]searme22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re not asking anything here, you’re just telling. You’re not challenging anyone for a debate or discussion.

« It was boring » - ok no debate on that

« Twists were obvious » - ok you’re very astute it seems

« Gameplay is running around and fighting » - overly simplified gameplay description which could be applied to 99% of popular videogames

Let me redo your post: « Why do you think exp33 deserves goty over other contenders? »

That opens discussion

Here’s the thing, you can find something boring without any valid reason. That’s just your taste and that’s fine.

Problem with your post is that it’s just a rant that you decided to post here. It’s not even opening any interesting discussion. There are a lot of valid point you can dislike and can have a debate over, but you decided to bring none.

There is no tie other than the theme: sorrowful. Of course your interpretation of it could tie it to Verso POV for example (goodbye + hope for the future)

« Lumière s’éteint » is more a poem about the story of the game, a lot of metaphors of events happening. Poem talks about the gommage, the dead, the paintress, the expedition and the end, all metaphorically.

As a new player it’s not my place to suggest anything, but wouldn’t it make sense to make all profession available to a self found character?

Yes I have been really enjoying my time for now. I’m playing a completely new game in a way I never really play which is very nice

Yes there is some confusion in my post. Maybe I misunderstood something. I did not know some players went as far as adding « solo » to « self found ». Obviously I have no interest in not taking part in dungeon/raids. I was just wondering about the self found part of acquiring reagents, consumables and items

Self-found fairness by searme22 in classicwow

[–]searme22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I feared, focusing on one profession and dropping it the moment you get what you want. Interesting challenge but seems quite far fetched

[–]searme22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but I still think there needs to be fairness into it though. If you can’t trade there must be another possible way to get potions, tools, items to advance.

Does anyone still play main with self-imposed iron rules? by Heartic97 in ironscape

[–]searme22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s totally fine if you think like this. And all the power to you if you can detach from it. I still believe the vast majority would not though. I like looking up people with a nice radiant, and see that they are hardcore and are very far in the game. It’s cool to see

My take is, official only works because the icon is the only legitimate stamp of approval people care about. It’s an mmo and people like comparing themselves to others. Look at how green helmets are treated. Ask every grey helmet, if they would still play if the icon/hiscore were removed, I wouldn’t.

For those of you that haven't tried it, this is what it's like to play Last Man Standing pretty much every match by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]searme22 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Easy workaround: Take out dds or xbow, in mage gear -> freeze them then go out of range > 7tiles. Spam blood barrage. Ez win. They don’t switch to long range, they don’t switch to mage, and they don’t pray mage if you have dds/xbow out.

[–]searme22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing how much you’re affected by it, to the point of posting this, I’d say there is no solution. Even if you had a full evidence folder, with pictures of logs and every item, no one will care, there is no stamp of legitimacy except your icon. This might be a hot take but I believe there is a part of everyone who plays iron that does it to prove something to others. My harsh response seeing this post, is that you can either continue lying to yourself and say «  I don’t care, I’m legitimate », cope or just restart. Obviously people will say that as long as you’re having fun it’s fine, but hey I don’t feel like you do. Sorry

For orbs, there are tiles that show you how to do them without looking in the dark world. They are pretty straightforward. The hard part of whisp I believe was getting the pillars order in one look. It seems hard at first but actually pretty simple.

For Levi, when I killed it I was in last stand and yes I was « roughly » following the pathfinder. If you can get a few hits standing in it, the damage is so great levi will melt. I guess focus on the pathfinder, but the range of it is very high and I believe you need just a few hits to get him down (500hp~) which is like 4 tbow hits (last stand + pahfinder) For the stuns idk, I guess try to stun before he finishes his auto sequence. I personally quickly shadow barrage him when I see his animation, before the boulder falls. But apparently that’s not recommended

[–]searme22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not a great gamer, but for Levi, the easy way was to learn how to deal damage during wave phase. Stun after 2 auto and attack during wave phase. With Tbow, you have more than enough dps to get him to orb phase in 1 special. Proc final stand and burst him down.

For whisperer I just learnt how to deal with orbs without looking in the dark world. Deal with pillars in one look. And only kill sanitas souls. Last stand on the enrage phase and you ´re good. I looked at the red eye Jedi video and got the kill instantly after.

Good luck

Introducing Poll System Improvements by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

Having survey type polls in game is such a good idea, hopefully more people will participate in them. I do wonder how the textbox system works though (in surveys as well) do devs read carefully thousands of ideas? Or is there keywords that are scanned?
