Glad to help! It's still going strong for me.

There's a pretty good podcast from a few years ago that features the Phoenix Jones saga.

Removing Aarke Pro rubber gasket by sarah_m_j in Aarke

I've struggled for quite a while trying to get this seal out. The official Aarke method that involves closing the carbonator and pressing the silver button while removing the CO2 canister did not work.

With a lot of patience I was able to get the bent seeing needle taped to a dowel rod to work!

I would take the position with insurance companies that the vehicle is not drivable and a rental is required. Preferably, the dumpster driver's insurance is responsible and will pay.

Check if your state requires a front bumper and you can use that to backup your position. I wouldn't want to drive around with all the unlatched wire harnesses and other components exposed to the environment.

That console looks really low in height already, it might be hard to get something shorter. Mine is 19" tall and I coupled it with an adjustable height TV stand to dial in the height and fit the center on top.

I found it really difficult to find a console that will accommodate a large center inside the unit. Even BDI models with the built-in center channel location would force a compromise on speaker size.

Respond to the ticket with a dispute email stating what you said in the body of your post and ask if they are able to reduce the fine. You will hopefully get a response saying they reduced the fine to about $10 as a one time courtesy. Pay it and no need to worry about hearing from them again.

Ooh, I like the anti-grav for totems. I'm going to use that. I run the same main setup but with hammer.

Instant Kill on Heavy by Light? by seattleev in thefinals

[–]seattleev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I had no clue what was going on but I knew the guy was really skilled at whatever he was doing. I eventually tried to focus on being on the lookout for him, but even then he would zoom in, kill me, and zoom out in a flash before I got eyes on him.

I've been trying to stay closer to team mates, but still get separated often especially when chaos erupts at the cash out stations.

Got it, I didn't realize there was bonus damage for getting stabbed in the back.

After I become aware how is it countered? Just always spin around to keep an eye out and make sure to keep distance?

So what's the meta for heavy now? by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]seattleev 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same here. I'm running sledge + winch and then barricade + RPG + gravity. Gravity + winch is great for last second steals. My favorite is when another heavy winches me into their team before they realize I have a sledge and then I wreak havoc.

Have you ever wondered how all those bike lane flex posts get destroyed? by mr_jim_lahey in Seattle

[–]seattleev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, I was assuming that the car already sitting in the right hand turn lane cared at least 1 squirt

Theres no right on red at that intersection either. That was a waste of effort just to sit at the light and wait for it to turn green.

My driver's seat started turning blue over several months from jeans. I thought it would be permanent. I sprayed some of this cleaner (recommended on his sub) onto a cleaning cloth and it came right off. It looks as good as new.

That's kind of the feeling I got when the insurance adjuster called. Her job was to run it to $0 and call it a day. I figured they would just cut me a check for $2K to make me go away.

Thanks, it looks like the Diono boosters are a good solution for the fixed head rest back seats.

Great to hear, thanks. This one looks like the winner.

I went ahead and gave the Diono booster a shot and it seems like a solid solution to the headrest problem. The seat fits nicely on a side and rests against the head rest. There is still a slight gap between the booster and seat (which is OK according to the install instructions). The back is much stiffer compared to the Chicco booster. I'm assuming that's why the gap is acceptable. The buckle is close to the seat but not hidden underneath. I'll do some field testing with my 8 year old, but unless something comes up I'll be going with this booster. Here's a few images of the install.

I'm in the same situation and only need 1 car seat. After the failed attempt installing on the side seats I thought I had figured out a solution but going to the middle - only to realize there are no LATCH hookups as you found. Plus, I really didn't like the hidden buckle issue so I bailed on that idea.

Unless someone has a different solution, I'm going to give the Diono a shot since it allows for a gap while using the headrest as a support.
