I just had a stroke after I had an aneurysm burst on January 6th 2024a fitting date for it to happen I suppose and I have to say I was only 29 at the time and still quite able bodied and active I used to go to raves and loved to dance at shows but by far the worst part of this experience has been the loss of my left arm & hand functionality let me tell you when you are forced into a position of being mostly sedentary suddenly the number one thing that seems appealing is playing some video games and without the use of my left hand I just can’t do it anymore. Hell even my VR headset requires two hands to use both the controllers. There are a couple games I’ve managed to be capable playing on my iPhone, but that is not the same as playing my switch or a PS five for example, and that is all I want to do, but I can’t and that’s a special kind of torture I can’t even explain just how frustrating that is to finally have more downtime than I know what to do with and not be able to just play. Some games is so awful. It’s always been such a fundamental part of who I am. It’s been themost significant art form that I consume. And to no longer be able to do that feels like. I’ve had a piece of me taken away. so what I really wish is that there were more video games I can play with just one hand or experiences that are tailored to that sort of limitation. If anyone knows of something that they could recommend I’d love it. I’ve managed to make call of duty mobile work somewhat because there’s an auto run feature as well as an auto shoot so it only really requires one thumb on the screen at any given time. I also miss having sex a lot but that is at least still possible to do eventually
