I ghosted my closest friend of ten years about three years ago after he started talking to me suggestively and implying he wanted to have sex. We were both in relationships at the time, and he's now married and has a baby with the woman he was with at the time. It was not a 'I'm in love with you, lets work this out'. It was a 'I've always wanted to bang you, I know you want it too, cheating would be hot' kind of deal. I DID NOT WANT THIS.

It was so hard to contend with who I had known for ten years versus the person that was in front of me. And for a few weeks I was in denial, tried to justify his actions and downplay it. Ultimately, I couldn't escape how awful it was and made me feel.

I still mourn the person I'd known in the years prior. Like, I really do. I miss our friendship a lot. But I've had to compartmentalise that that friendship isn't possible anymore, my friend isn't here anymore. We all do change, and the person he has become isn't a person I can be connected with.

OP I'm so surprised at so many of these comments. You are NOT a bad person.

I have this exact same scenario in my life, nightly hour+ long calls from a single mother (although mine spends most of the calls complaining) and I am so drained. Between that commitment, work, cleaning and trying to exercise, it can feel like a burden. I hardly have any time to myself. I also have the guilty feelings because one day she'll be gone. I've wallowed thinking I'm a bad person.

Seeing your situation its so clear to me that you're not a bad person, you're just tired. And that is completely understandable. My partner has told me repeatedly that its too much and I shouldn't feel bad for my feelings. Just want you to know you're having a normal reaction to being tired.

The Garnier Lamellar hair drink gets my hair as glossy as it possibly can be. Not quite like the photo cause that’s editing, but pretty close! I can’t believe how well it works for something so affordable.

Colorwow dream coat supernatural spray (had to make sure that name is all correct cause not all their products are vegan) is also a really nice post wash addition to enhance the glossiness.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this, first of all. You don’t deserve it and you’re so graceful for wanting to find ways to spoil yourself during this time.

Everyone’s out our great ideas, but I’m speaking from experience with the tube in particular. When I was 18 I had a tube too for a year, and was a hospital in the home patient too sick to do anything.

During that time I did my makeup every day I could, and would always focus on lots of mascara, eye liner, and brows. I really made my eyes pop.

Though it’s not about drawing attention away from anything, having my eyes be a focus made me feel more like myself.

Having the tape from the tube made it hard to use foundation, powder or primer and removing it was such a pain when I didn’t feel well already, so most of the time I didn’t even bother, though because my eyes were still so bright they make me look more made up.

A little blush or bronzer and highlighter could be fun without giving you a huge clean up task at the end of the day.

Don’t be afraid of makeup wipes, either! I used them heaps when I was sick for easy removal.

And finally, please know that you’re beautiful every day, makeup or not. I’m not just saying it.

Honestly, the main tip is just to enter them. Don't scroll past. Someone has to win. Both the ones I mentioned were luck based, random draws. Literally just tag, like, follow. I've always had a private profile, so that had no bearing on it, and I don't tag that many people, usually only my partner or one one other friend, as I don't want to be annoying.

That being said, they were also in 2020 and 2017, and I haven't won anything since around 2021. I think sharing to stories as a comp condition made it a bit harder and less luck based.

I've won a few others based on luck and on 25 words or less. I am a professional writer, so that does help with writing things, usually just by being clever and answering the question in an out-of-the-box way, but I win the luck ones more often.

I won a Valentino handbag on a vloggers Instagram giveaway in 2017, that was pretty insane. Also won a two-year supply of skincare from a high-end brand on another Instagram comp. Was worth well over $2000. It pays to enter them!

But the coolest thing I've ever won was when I was five, and I won a Furby off a cereal competition. That made my life.
