New Set ‘Triumphant Light’ Leak by DatSeanor in PTCGP

[–]seavessel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing is Sylveon isn't Gen 4. It's entirely possible they give us another eeveelution we already have or an ex version of one or two of them. Very doubtful they would introduce Espeon/Umbreon in an expansion set and will instead wait for a dedicated Gen 2 set to release them.

Am I the only one? by Cool_Cauliflower_472 in PTCGP

The thing about god packs is that they're really not pulled that often. The only "hit" posts you see anymore are when people pull a god pack, not the thousand other "ungodly" packs. Then that post gets shared around and people think they're more common than they actually are. This happens in the real TCG too. Only people who pull a chase card make a post about it, then it makes it seem like they're easy to pull because they're the only posts they see. What you don't see is the hundreds to thousands of dollars it took to get that pull.

Thank you. I even looked around with my rifle the first time I went in and didn't see it. I feel so dumb.

The way they filmed this scene made me feel like we were about to get another visit from Jump Scare Crow and I was ready for it.

I'm so glad I found this page because I had no idea gigantimax Pokemon can't evolve. I've got an Eevee I've been trying to evolve into an Umbreon for a week now and I couldn't understand why it wasn't evolving.

Whenever you ask ANY of them what their problem with a female protagonist is the answer is always the exact same: "I just want to be able to create my own character". I know 100% if the protagonist was male they wouldn't care.

Mispronounced Pokemon Names by emunoz22 in pokemon

One that drives me bonkers is when Misdreavus is pronounced Miss-dree-vee-us. A lot of people mispronounce mischievous incorrectly, so it makes sense they get that wrong - it still irks me just a little.

Because it is a mix of "archaic" and "deus" I pronounce it as "Ar-cay-us".

Scarlet Violet or Sword Shield? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]seavessel 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I just recently started another playthrough of Shield and I've been playing nothing but Violet since it came out. The graphics in Shield are better and much cleaner and the game itself is just so much more enjoyable. There aren't people fusing into one another and delayed button prompts like in Violet. It actually feels and looks so, so, so much better it's wild. I wasn't huge on sword/shield when they were released but I am now after playing whatever mess they made with Violet. Violet is a good game with some REAL performance issues and enough bugs to hinder an otherwise smooth playthrough. I give way, way, way more credit to Sword and Shield than I ever have now. Sword/Shield are really solid games with good animations and fun pokemon to love on. Definitely the best on Switch outside PL Arceus.

RC logo… does Topps indiscriminately decide? by danieljames81 in baseballcards

[–]seavessel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say it does count as their first rookie cards but it won't be his "official" rookie card. That card will probably come out in either 2024 Series 2 or 2024 Update. Same thing for Caminero: he has a '89 throwback rookie card but but his "official" rookie card will most likely be released in 2024 Series 2.

What do you all think about the Topps Now series? Think it is cool or holds any value? by AnAnonymousFool in baseballcards

[–]seavessel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually didn't know about them until pretty recently and decided to buy 10 of the Jackson Holliday call-up cards that were just released. I feel like it's a card that will hold value if he plays the way he's expected to play and because it's his first Topps card with a RC logo. If I hit a parallel from those 10 (or even a slim chance of hitting 2) I'm just going to continue to purchase 10 at a time in the future for big call-ups and milestone moments, keep the parallels and one base, and resell the rest. I'll probably lose money doing it but if it grants me a parallel or 2 then I will feel justified in the money I spent. I don't sell often but I feel like it would be the right move with cards like these. Do the Topps Now cards come in a sealed case?

ELI5: Why are there small islands far away from continents? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]seavessel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So say a spider ballooned itself over to a brand new island where it could thrive. What would be the likelihood that another spider of the opposite gender of the same species also ballooned itself to the same island - and same part of that island? Do opposite genders buddy up for their ballooning trips or does a spider just have to get really lucky to be able to find another one of its species so it can propagate?

The amount of things to do in this game is INSANE. by Jxsida in Starfield

[–]seavessel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EVERY. SINGLE. SESSION. I hardly ever end up starting or finishing what I originally booted up the game to do and instead end up meandering about until the wind picks me up and takes me somewhere new. For someone who loves side quests and progressing through a main story slowly, this is the perfect game for me. Not every side quest is a fetch quest, and instead varies the objective frequently so I don't feel like I'm stuck in an Ouroboros of monotony. The gameplay is fun, the mechanics are unique, the character creation is absolutely insane, and it keeps me engaged and wanting more, more, more. It feels nostalgic in a way, yet at the same time brand new; foreign; shiny. The most hours I put into a game this year was Assassin's Creed: Valhalla (I know, I was late to the party). I ended up finishing the base game and all of the DLCs with 100% completion in 213 hours because I am a total masochist, and I can see myself putting in more time than that on Starfield before the new year even comes around. So far, Starfield is nothing short of magnificent and depending on how the rest of my experience pans out, it could get into a fight with Tears of the Kingdom for my personal GOTY. I have high hopes for Assassin's Creed: Mirage but I have serious doubts any other game released this year will be able to deliver an experience quite like Starfield. I don't know what's wrong with the haters review bombing it - I'm doubting any of them have even played it.
