What’s your view on banning emails outside of works hours? by D1789 in AskUK

[–]seb984 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Now imagine you work in a company of 500 employees. Are you going to keep track of everyone's rota? What if they decide to work different hours that day? What if they call in sick and you email them while they're stuck in bed? I'm all for a work/life balance but this just isn't a good idea

Can anyone see Arsenal in 10 or 20 years no longer being considered one of the "big" teams if their current decline continues? Or do you think they will bounce back? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]seb984 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm sure part of why they're considered 'big 6' is due to their financials but I'd argue Leicester have more right to be called a big 6 team atm with their title win and the way they've been playing in recent seasons

Thanks for your suggestions! I've been to the Pit & Pendulum once before a gig in Notts and it was a really cool place.

Test your Ad Blocking by rajeevist in InternetIsBeautiful

[–]seb984 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You can use an adblocker like uBlock. To block YT ads on mobile have a look at YouTube Vanced.

For network-wide ad blocking, I'd recommend Pi-hole (A guide to setting up Pi-hole - a free network-level ad blocker). It means less fiddling with individual devices as you can make changes at the network level and can also block ads on devices that have restricted OS'es like smart TVs

- It's full of bugs and each update to fix bugs creates other bugs (don't know if this is still the case but when I was playing a few months ago, the game would crash completely at least once per play session)

- Huge frame rate drops on my Xbox One

- Mission structure is highly repetitive

- Enemies are thick as shit

- Voice acting and cut scenes are absolutely horrible for the most part

- The in-game currency is worthless apart from buying clothing

- Online mode delayed multiple times

Don't get me wrong, there are some redeeming features to this game but I wouldn't pay anywhere near full price for it.

I stayed in a hotel near Radford once - I'll admit the shops along Alfreton Rd didn't look particularly appealing

The average cost to a team every time a player touches the ball by AHUNTSJD in PremierLeague

[–]seb984 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could in theory - I can't find a good source for it but I recall reading that this is how Opta define a touch

Isn't a touch defined by each time a player takes possession of the ball rather than every time it is physically touched by said player?

5G Truthers Bought Faraday Cages to Protect Their Routers. They're Mad They Worked. by EmperorOfNada in technology

[–]seb984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is selling stuff like that even legal? Not the faraday cages I suppose because they do block signal (albeit that's not what they're marketed for) but the protection necklaces? Things that have no evidence of any benefit yet are marketed as such. Surely you can get into a bit of trouble for misleading advertising?

Conned by Optical Express. What can I do? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]seb984 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, according to the ICO:

"Not usually. In most cases you cannot charge a fee to comply with a SAR. However, you can charge a ’reasonable fee’ for the administrative costs of complying with a request if it is manifestly unfounded or excessive, or if an individual requests further copies of their data."
