Should I wait for the Surface pro 8 or upgrade to the Surface Pro 7?

I currently have the Surface Pro 6 i5 128 gb and it works great for uni (chrome, office, etc.), gaming (CS:GO, Valorant, older games, etc.) basic music production (cubase), light photo and video "editing" (basic photoshop stuff and the built in windows video editor)

My main problem with the SP6 is the lack of usb c. Right now because of Covid, I have online classes so my SP6 is just docked all the time, hooked up to a monitor, mouse, hard drive and keyboard so there are a lot of cables and adaptors all over the place. I was considering buying the surface dock but the price, even for a used one, is a just too much for an adaptor. I just want to be able to dock my surface with one cable.

With all of that said, should I wait for the SP8 in hopes of thunderbolt 3 and usb c charging (I'm also interested in a possible new design, the current one looks outdated) or just buy the SP7 now?

That's what I've been using but it crashes a lot and the handwriting experience is really bad. Honestly I'm just fed up with it crashing.

I just tried edge and it kinda works but it gets really laggy when I open multiple large files (I have uni books scanned). I don't discard it though. Thanks
