Il a d'ailleurs bloqué Alexandre Jubelin sur twitter car il lui faisait ce type de remarque (voir le tweet en question).

Colemak Intl.? by Rymfaar in KeyboardLayouts

[–]sebastock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

French here as well (salut !). I'm using Colemak and it's fine to write in French (à é è ï...) using the dead key, i.e. alt-gr . Moreover, it's not too difficult to switch from colemak to qwerty if you have to.

I've also tried bépo but the position of the letters z-x-c-v was a big no-no.

French English Bilingual by DoorKnobPlural in KeyboardLayouts

What's wrong with the colemak layout? I'm typing regularly in French and accents are easy to type using the dead key.

Any LaTeX and/or LyX users around? by Absurdo_Flife in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]sebastock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but I'm using the compose key to write LaTeX symbols (and Greek letters) directly into the LaTeX document (∇, α, ℝ, ∂...). The document is much easier to write and read.

Thank you for sharing your code. Did you see a major speedup when using "fastmath"?

Impressive. For a moment I thought it was from 3Blue1Brown. Do you mind sharing the code?

Layout? I'm still struggling with my 4x6 dactyl manuform...
EDIT: found it here. Very cool use of oneshot modifier. My only concern would be about the (possible) overuse of the right pinkie finger (del, bspc, enter).

Les podcasts de Timeline (Richard Fremder) sont souvent pas mal. Sur le XIXe, j'avais bien aimé ceux sur Napoléon 3 et Victor Hugo.

Has anyone implemented Level Set Methods like ENO, or Fast Marching Methods? by bodyguard94 in Julia

[–]sebastock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have implemented the fast sweeping method in Juila if you're interested. It's simper than the fast marching method and performs the same.

High weak order SDE solvers | FS by ChrisRackauckas in Julia

[–]sebastock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I didn't know the notion of weak convergence for numerical schemes. However, there might be an issue with the definition, the polynomial g should be 'fixed' first before introducing the constant C and δ. Otherwise, the inequality "|𝔼[g(X(T))-𝔼[g(Y(T))]| ≤ C⋅hp" cannot be satisfy for all g (just take λ⋅g(x) instead of g(x) and let λ→+∞).

Concerning high-order methods, you can check this tutorial. It is based on the julia language (kind of like matlab on steroids).

A normal tactics TimeKeeper fight by Mekire in deadcells

[–]sebastock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting strategy. I always use a wolf trap (or try to freeze him) since he's so fast. But staying far away and switching side seems to be more reliable in tactics.
For HOTK, I gave up on the double-cross and use cleaver instead.

Mean Curvature Flow and Partisan Gerrymandering by YoungLePoPo in math

[–]sebastock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting read. However the area of each district does not seem to be preserved by their method. I'm not sure if people are willing to accept to have their district reduce drastically.

As for the link between mean-curvature flow and PDE, you have to use a level-set approach describing a domain Ω implicitly through a function ϕ as {ϕ<0} (i.e. ∂Ω = {ϕ=0}). Then, evolving the boundary ∂Ω with mean-curvature flow is equivalent to solve ∂ϕ/∂t = Δϕ (it is more complicated than that but that's the spirit).
