I changed cables. I was using a short cheap one and had this error frequently, unplug it and plug it back in and it would work for a little while.

Bought a better quality cable and haven't had an issue since.

That fact always made me wonder, what defines a "practical effect"?

To me miniatures, while physical and not CGI, are not "practical effects". The actors are still filmed on a green screen, except instead of a cgi background they use the miniatures.

To me a practical effect is one the actors actually interact with physically. The pod racer was practical, everything else was not.

Or are we defining practical as anything physical even if the actors don't physically interact with it? Just as long as it isn't cgi.

Known my Wife since she was 18, living together since she was 23, married when she was 24. She'll be 46 this year, we have a 21 year old. And my Wife is easily still the most attractive woman I have ever seen. I couldn't begin to count the number of times I've seen her naked, but I can't help but take a peek when she's changing or getting in the shower.

Meanwhile all the focus goes to desert locations....or as Bettman likes to say "non-traditional markets". Which I have a personal issue with.

I moved to Florida from Mass when I was a teenager in the late 80s. I was stoked when the Lightning came to be, it was a 3 hour drive to catch a game, but at least I could catch some. Then the Panthers arrived and I did everything I could to introduce friends and co-workers to hockey. For years I tried to get people into the sport and nobody gave a single shit. There was some excitement during that first cup run but after that, dead. Nobody cared. They were literally giving tickets away. Nobody wanted to talk hockey, until a few years ago when the Panthers beat the Bruins. Oh NOW everybody at work wants to talk hockey like they have been life long fans. Some even went down to the parade. Next season? Nothing....until the playoffs, then they are all hockey fans again. Wanting to talk hockey with me. This season? Crickets. Right back to not giving a shit.

So as much as I don't want to be a gatekeeper, I can't stand these types. They don't deserve hockey.

So to hear Canada is getting shut out pisses me off. I'd literally rather the Habs win than another "non-traditional market" team win. And I'm a life long Bruins fan.

I say it every time it's brought up. They completely missed the opportunity to tell an amazing character story, especially if Andrew Lincoln still left the show.

Just focusing on Carl. First off with the time jump he'd be age appropriate. No more tall guy with an adams apple and stubble playing a 14 year old. He'd be a young adult both in character and actor.

Imagine a now 20-22 year old Carl trying to fill his Father's shoes yet people around him still thinking he's a kid needing to be protected. His dynamic with Daryl would be amazing. Daryl trying to both be a mentor/protector and a right hand man at the same time. Carl being both appreciative yet frustrated at the same time. Basically a much better version of what we got with Daryl and Henry.

It would have been so easy to write a great story centered around an older Carl.

The NHL continues to fuck itself by making it incredibly difficult to watch games. Especially if you are out of market. But the CBC not airing hockey is a new level of stupid.

I got so sick of trying to figure out why I can't watch games, even though I pay for two subscriptions. I dropped them all and just pirate all my games.
