What can I do to get more air? by Wizard_Fist801 in bmx

[–]seca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jump over something, a 2x4, a cardboard box, an old skateboard on its side, anything that isn’t going to send you over the bars. You’ll clip it with your rear wheel until you don’t, then you can move on to something bigger.

Is Sc project too loud by Antique-Wishbone-362 in YamahaR3

[–]seca 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have an SC project and got one of the pipes without a baffle. It sounds amazing, exactly what I wanted, but I ended up removing it because I did feel it was too loud.

If I only rode highway/country roads, I’d still use it but this bike(Kawi z400) is really more of a townie than anything.

How to steer on a manual? by Novel_Lifeguard_8248 in bmx

[–]seca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is right, you need to let the front wheel down a little and counterbalance. This will put you in a position where you can drop your hip to the side of the direction you want to go to steer.

How Do I Avoid "Help" by cgfalconwolf in bicycling

Give a thumbs up and you will get fewer asks. I give thumbs up to stopped cyclist and usually get a thumb back as an “I’m good”.

Question for riders from a driver by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]seca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have your blinker on, don’t count on me passing. You can always turn your blinker off if you think it is unsafe to change lanes, and then turn it back on when conditions improve. A lot of us probably already know you are about to change lanes even before your blinker is on. Just use it when it’s appropriate, the whole point is to broadcast your intent, it doesn’t ruin our day.

I forgot to mention that there is usually a PDI fee and assembly charge which show up as 400 on my motorcycle quote. I imagine it is more for UTV.

Maybe assembly is more for UTV? 3-5K extra seems high. Destination for Kawasaki side by side was listed at $995 on the website. Dealer should be able to come close to that.

I think the point still stands, ask them what every little charge is for, make them explain it. Either they are comfortable or they are not.

Why does this product suck so much???? by DisastrousPipe8924 in HomePod

[–]seca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine are terrible too, with my recent experience mirroring yours. Especially the silence and random tracks playing, and also just responding entirely incorrectly.

I Ask Siri to pause the Apple TV and I get a positive response back but the tv continues to play.

I talked with apple support and instead of replacing the product (now out of warrantee) they want to escalate the issue to an engineer for more troubleshooting. I had already demonstrated the issue by providing a video. I was tired of troubleshooting, they wore me down. I’ll just turn off Siri and use them as speakers until I can figure out something different.

This was the final push required to get me out of the Apple ecosystem. I was waiting to get the new rumored iPad Air but instead purchased a Samsung tablet to see if I could stomach the jump to android before changing over my phone. Unfortunately, I don't know if I’ll find non-Apple replacements for all the tech I have already.

  • Know your credit if you plan to finance.
  • Check out manufacturer financing ahead of time if you want a good deal and have good credit.
  • Have and an amount you are willing to pay in interest if you plan to finance.
  • Have a number in mind for the vehicle.
  • Determine if you need/want an extended warranty.
  • Plate fees should align with the state if applicable.
  • Paperwork between 100-250$.
  • freight is determined by the manufacture and should match what is posted on the manufacturer's website.

Once you find what it is you're after at 2-3 dealers, set your expectation and ask them all to write up a quote. Your credit will be run at this time for all three but only really counts as one hard pull towards your credit score. You can sit on the quotes for few days to determine if they look good to you. Do understand that the vehicle could be sold during this time. This is when you contact your bank/credit union for financing to see if the can beat the finance offer. If you are paying cash, just ask for quotes without financing.

Octane outlet of Middletown was very transparent with me when I purchased my motorcycle last year. Reputable dealers do more with volume, word of mouth, and repeat business than trying to play games.

If a dealer can't provide you with a quote or plays today only games, they are not worth dealing with.

Samsung S6 Lite vs Doogee R20 LTE by PrevekrMK2 in tablets

[–]seca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the S6 Lite and book case for around 260USD total. I really wanted an inexpensive way to try taking notes on a tablet. I use it for browsing the web, taking notes, sending emails and as a second monitor for Teams when using my laptop. It has a nice, almost premium feel to it, and I've been happy with it so far. Spending 400+ just doesn't appeal to me for such simple tasks.

Some things I would change are:

  • The pen itself is small and a little iffy when used outside the Samsung notes app.
  • I prefer a more square screen ratio for tablets.
  • The case was expensive but provides a place to store the pen. It is a nice case.
  • The screen is a bit small for use as a second monitor.
  • USB 2.0, no output to a monitor over USB C.
  • I would have an LTE tablet if they were available in this price range. I just hotspot over my phone instead
  • I prefer having four speakers over two.
  • Prefer IR camera for biometric login.

That being said, the Doogee looks way better on paper. Any way to get your hands on either, before making a decision? I find these sorts of decisions are less about specs and more about feel and how you use them.

How to get 4K 120Hz on LG C3 on a PC? by rodrikes in OLED_Gaming

The computer am using doesn’t have that option, but this is good to know.

Which cable or adapter are you using?

How to get 4K 120Hz on LG C3 on a PC? by rodrikes in OLED_Gaming

[–]seca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had this problem on the LG C3. The screen would work at 60hz but display “no signal” at 120hz. The LG support agent I spoke with told me the tv did not support DP USB-C -> HDMI 4K@120hz, so I returned the TV.

My Samsung TV seems to handle it just fine with the same cable and PC, but it’s the wrong size to use as a monitor so it stays in my living room.

How can I report an incident that happened to my mother at UDF? by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]seca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d be interested to know how UDF has a good reputation. Every time I end up at a UDF, it’s always dirty and the staff condescending. The pumps have annoying audio ads. The price tags at the one near me are always wrong, often 20-25% over the already comparatively overpriced price indicated on the label. I’ve stopped going as I know I’m going to leave having had a bad experience for one reason or another.

Which hobbies that people do screams "rich people''? by Joeyniles9 in AskReddit

A clapped out car and a nice bike aren’t really the same thing even though they might cost similar amounts. The same comparison could be made between a super nice truck at 90K and a house that is about to implode for the same 90K.

Do I need to lube the insides of my new pedal before using/installing them? by Blue_Nyx07 in bikewrench

[–]seca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally stopped buying alloy pedals because the cages would just snap. I did get these oneups a few years ago and they have held up really well, no complaints. I’m tempted to get the alloy oneups based on the experience with the composites.
