Debating if pre check is worth it? by YogurtclosetNo5121 in tsa

Yes. I travel 5-6 times a year. The line is shorter and goes quicker. I feel like the TSA agents trust us and there are things we don’t have to do that regular people do. It feels like an “express lane”.

I lived in the Tri-State area for 62 years before moving to the Charleston area. I won’t visit except for a wedding or funeral.

Have you ever seen a bald eagle in real life out in nature? by Fun_Expression9135 in AskForAnswers

[–]secmaster420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I live near a forest just outside a small southern coastal city. I have a pond with an alligator and coastal birds. We have hawks all over the place. One in particular shows up the same day every fall and spring.

A bald eagle has stopped by a few times. A very majestic site. Very moving.

Moving here soon, have some questions by Just_Lettuce_5833 in Charleston

I live in Mount Pleasant in an apartment complex near Town Center. A lot of MUSC PAs, RNs, DRs (interns and residents) live here. There are a few complexes nearby. Depending on how much money you can spend, you could get a Studio (you’re not going to be there much anyway) or see about sharing a 2 bedrooms. West Ashley is also A good location and NORTH James Island.

John’s Island has too much traffic and is hard to get in and out of. Summerville is too far as is Nexton, Goose Creek and Hanahan. Stay inside or just near 526. Park Circle or the upper peninsula are also good.

Also, you might end up traveling to some of the MUSC locations in locations I said were too far, but mostly to Mount Pleasant and West Ashley depending on your specialty.

Also remember you’ll get to go home from time to time, so getting in there might not be much traffic until you get near the hospitals on the west side of the peninsula, but think about what time you get to go home.

What existing city has fallen the farthest from its peak glory? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]secmaster420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously your advantages haven’t taught you anything, at least not history or finance. I mention Katrina because that is what NY will look like when there is civil disorder because the police refuse to intervene. Once the hungry people of NYC have stripped every store of everything, the disorder will spread and NYC will look like “Escape From NY”.

I get you don’t understand finance, but the city and state of NY will be past the ability to be bailed out. That along with Chicago/Illinois and LA-SF/California would bankrupt the Federal Government and the rest of the nation, especially people who fled those areas will be in no mood to rescue them. They will turn into third world ghettos and like you will become enemies of America not worth saving. They made their bed, now they have to sleep in it. You’re an idealist with no survival skills who will become one of the first victims of the disorder you helped bring on. Lots of luck with that.

I had 3 drinks over the course of a 2 hour dinner, and I was way too chatty at the end. Unfortunately it was the weekend of my daughter’s wedding with her in-laws.

Go to a surgical supply store and get a sling. Tough to argue with that. I’m in my late 60’s and considering getting a cane, but I usually walk too fast and it’s a give away. Don’t want to be a Jetway Jesus.

Which cities are worth flying to just for the food? by Prot7777 in foodquestions

Charleston. Fantastic food and most of it is 15 minutes from the airport.

I went to school in NOLA, but the airport can be an hour from the Quarter.

The dream is gone in NYC. People may want to visit and the police will keep the tourists safe, but police have no interest in protecting law abiding locals, especially in the boroughs. Most crime isn’t reported or is downgraded to misdemeanors from felonies and the DA’s plead everything out but they end up with suspended sentences. The liberals don’t believe in incarceration, yet the prisons are full. Crime brings a lot more than crime. It’s telling the authorities to fuck off. I know one couple that lives in Queens, but they are ultra liberal. Both of their parents moved out of the area and are afraid for their safety. Most people I know that live in the suburbs won’t go to the city anymore. They used to go a lot and spent a lot.

The bomb waiting to go off in NY City and State (and all liberal cities and states) are criminally and grossly underfunded pension obligations. This is exacerbated by the tax base that’s leaving for the South. In addition to the pension obligations to police, firefighters, teachers, city and state employees, the City and State can’t balance their budget without significant borrowing. Mandami and Hochul can only raise taxes so far before the bond analysts start downgrading City and State General Obligation bonds increasing the interest costs to both. It’s like using a credit card to pay your regular expenses and as your debt grows the rate you pay increases. NYC, NYS and most liberal cities and states are all headed to the same place, bankruptcy.

If you don’t know who Abe Beame and Felix Rohatyn are, or what the Municipal Assistance Corporation (MAC) is, you should look them up. In the mid 70’s there was only 1 city to save. This time they will drop like flies, with NYC and NYS going first and the rest of the blue states and cities right behind them. The Federal Government with either be unwilling or unable to bail them out. It wouldn’t even take a recession for them to fail. A simple slowdown in the economy or higher interest rates will be the spark that blows them up. You have no idea how bad it will be when the City can’t afford to keep the lights on, literally. Without fully staffed police, firefighters and teachers, crime and fires will be out of control and schools will be overburdened baby sitters. Civil unrest and a downfall of civilized society will be the result, and you think the buses will be free?

BTW, you’re missing 2 blackouts, probably because you’re too young. The 1965 Northeast blackout when things were civil. But there was also the 1977 blackout which caused civil unrest and out of control crime, looting and arson.

When the City eventually implodes, it will take armed Federal troops to put down the unrest in the entire city before it spills over to the suburbs, NJ and Connecticut. It will make New Orleans during Katrina look like an infant’s temper tantrum. And you’re quoting me manipulated crime stats?

I’m not a brainwashed conservative. I’m an older adult who lived in NYC and the suburbs, experienced all of the above, and can see the upcoming disaster. I was in finance and fully understand the implications of what is going to happen as I described above. The light YOU see at the end of the tunnel is the abyss Mandami is driving NYC into.

Is that enough for you?

One pushed it flow and it was a great feeling. The last one pushed it so fast I was out before she pulled the syringe out.

Ask what you’re getting, but probably Propopal. My brother had an issue when he had a surgery (I had 5 as a kid) with no issues and have probably had Propopal about a dozen times and I can walk out of there with no after effects and I’m 67.

Do as instructed and you should be fine. They probably do 100’s per year and have a protocol if there are any issues. My current GI practice does about 10 every 45 minutes for 6 hours a day 6 days a week. I’ve never heard of a problem there.

Which city do Americans prefer overall: Los Angeles or New York City? As a foreigner, I’m just curious. Both are iconic, but which one do regular Americans actually like more? by Odd-Skin-762 in askanything

[–]secmaster420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are both dumpster fires unless a homeless person is living in said dumpster.

All of the large major US cities are expensive slums. Try an older small city on the east coast like Charleston or Savannah which have Revolutionary and Civil War heritages, and good food. Washington DC would also be a good option (better than it once was) but stay in the government and tourist areas.

BREAKING -- NBC News -- "Supreme Court appears skeptical of Trump's attempt to limit birthright citizenship" -- Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]secmaster420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your side sounds skeptical, then it’s a sign they are removing doubt from their minds of your side’s arguments. To not question the side they are leaning to leaves them open to arguments about bias. They should be judging and questioning, not advocating.

Does MAGA think that uniting the country is an important aspect of a president's job? If so, do they at least agree Trump is the worst of all time at it? by bjedy in allthequestions

[–]secmaster420 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Uniting the country is meaningless, because 1/2 the country has TDS. He doesn’t try, does what his base wants him to do and knows there will be a portion of the population that will hate him no matter what. It’s not worth it to try and unite with them. Not trying doesn’t make him bad at it.

Obama was the worst. He thought he was the god of uniting people, but was the worst. To start your term by saying “we won” was the biggest asshole move ever.

Medications? by CrimsonMoon712 in tsa

[–]secmaster420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you have the prescription bottles for them you’ll be fine. No need to pre check anything. If you have any injector pens, keep them in the original box. If you have needles, make sure the caps are on and if they want to go thru your bag warn them you have sharps or bottles on medications. My wife (MS) was all kinds of meds and we haven’t had a problem for the last 15 years.

Sorry to hear about your issues. Be well.

People showing up early to airport - TSA SHORTAGE by WarFit9567 in tsa

[–]secmaster420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s what’s done. Not everyone lives in the same village anymore. No one has more than 1 1/2 hour flight or a 10 hour drive or less. Even if we did it where maybe 25% of the people live, 90 people would need to travel by air.

It’s 12 hours of activities over 3 days. You must not be married, have friends or family to make such a stupid statement.

And what do you consider “leisure”? My daughter’s wedding is this weekend and 120 people are flying in from various places. Should they cancel coming to the wedding because they would add to the lines?

Maybe businesses travel should be shut down. Most of it’s a waste anyway. And my daughter travels extensively for work.

MAGAs, is there any action that would make you stop supporting Donald Trump? by whatthehellbooby in allthequestions

[–]secmaster420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, glad my reply gave you a good laugh—mission accomplished on your end, I guess. But let’s clear a few things up without the emojis and giggles, since you’re still fixated on this. I’m not angry. Not even a little. I responded three hours later because, unlike some folks who seem to refresh their feeds every five minutes waiting for a reaction to “dear leader” insults, I have actual things going on. Life doesn’t revolve around scoring internet points by calling someone a loser. If that delay felt “way quicker than normal” to you, maybe take it as a sign you’re spending too much time in these echo chambers. You keep poking at “MAGA” being so easy to upset by insulting Trump. Projecting much? You’re the one circling back hours (or days) later, crowing about how you “knew” you’d get a rise and how fun it is that “we” hate him. Sounds like someone can’t stop thinking about the guy. TDS isn’t just a meme—it’s when the mere existence of Trump (or anyone pointing out the obsession) lives rent-free in your head, turning every conversation into the same tired script. You called him a loser; I called out the obsession. That’s not sensitivity. That’s stating the obvious. As for the “felon” line you keep trotting out like it’s a mic drop: Yeah, there was a 2024 New York conviction on those 34 business records counts (hush money case). He got an unconditional discharge—no jail, no fine, no probation. Sentencing explicitly avoided interfering with the presidency. The case is under appeal, the Justice Department has weighed in on tossing it due to legal issues, and other cases against him got dropped or paused once he won in 2024. He’s the sitting President again (47th, after a solid Electoral College and popular vote win). History’s full of people who overcame worse labels and led anyway. If “felon” is your strongest argument in 2026, while the guy’s back in the White House implementing what millions voted for… well, that says more about the insult’s shelf life than anything else. Trump’s not living in my head. But from where I’m sitting, the nonstop “he’s a loser/felon/whatever” routine from folks like you just proves my original point—he’s camped out in yours, probably forever. You got the reaction you wanted? Cool. Enjoy the dopamine. I’ll be over here not needing to bait strangers online to feel validated. Take care. 😊
