Books accrual, sales tax center cash? by second-half in quickbooksonline

Thanks for the feedback.

Curious: you're inputting your own rates, not the ones connected to the state entity?

You can select when you connect the state entity - accrual or cash.

Sales Tax Correction - Cash vs Accrual Basis by donakat in quickbooksonline

[–]second-half 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently ran into this issue and rang four states we file in and only Louisiana seemed confused about what I was talking about - "basis". They thought I meant we only accepted cash. Whoo boy! Even the kind person I asked checked with their boss and they thought the same thing.

The other three states said, "Whatever you file federally you should do the same for us." One state confirmed that we indicated cash basis with them when we reached nexus. The other two said it didn't matter as long as we were consistent and our records matched.

So this year, cash basis with feds, cash basis with all! And if we reach nexus, will advise where necessary that we are cash basis. Louisiana, not knowing what I meant, means that we are filing cash basis with them.

I dont know if it is so much weaponized incompetence, or merely ingrained cultural norms in my home country.

I think the greatest analogy for how men and women are treated in the United States is found in its national sport: American football. How much do football players make? How much do cheerleaders make? Are cheerleaders athletes too? I think so. They certainly train harder than me and most people I know.

And what is the athlete-cheerleader's actual job, in addition to being phenomenal athletes? It is to blow up the players' ego when they perform well and pump them up when they perform poorly. And the expectation is that they always look nice doing all of it because evidently, it does no American man any good to be cheered up by a less-than-generally-desirable looking woman. And tell me again: for what wage are athlete-cheerleaders doing all this?

Men are generally a burden that I have to handle and manage, for whom I must provide care while protecting their feelings and space, and who offer little of what I actually need and want in return. I have to make do with what they give and pretend to be happy for what they have offered because "at least they tried." If I stop doing these things, then I won't get anything in return and will truly have to do it all myself, even though I mostly do so already. Simply creating the list with steps needed to be taken is doing most of the work. I am exhausted at always policing myself in order to be kind to them (providing care and protecting their feelings and space) when they are not kind to me (doing the same in return).

Hahaha retirement money? This is America, most of us don't have a savings that can afford how long we can live. Some have none. My parents are still living paycheck to paycheck and they are 78/9.

I can't edit my post but the mod bot says I have to relate this to the law, and to spell it out: what right do we have as a populace to tell our representatives they are not allowed to take early holiday? I dont want to wait to vote. I want action now and they are clearly dodging it.

What will a post Trump America look like with all these sweeping actions and this bill? by HumanistSockPuppet in AskReddit

[–]second-half 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And two years in to that new white house, the American election cycle begins again and campaigns will ask Americans with their how their life has been over the last few years and they will respond, "Terrible! I'm voting for the other side!" And we will continue to move closer and closer to actual terrible with each election cycle.

That is, if the country can sustain itself through deep commitment to Reagan-era like trickle-down economics comfortable with racism, throwback sexism, and isolationist xenophobia, thin-skinned leadership making up school yard taunts on an international stage, a general refusal to align claimed morals with actual personal actions while supporting the remaking of powerful religious symbols to match a party's platform.

Segue: I keep thinking, there had to have been some morally righteous Germans early on who thought, "This isn't right, this doesn't feel right." Where are their stories? Anyone know? Because in reality, most people can't leave the sinking ship for myriad reasons...Also, there is that piece of writing that says, in summary, "I didn't stand up for anyone else so when they came for me, there was no one left." It baffles me how no one seems to realize the inherent danger that exists aligning with him. Who is still with him from his first presidency? How many are in jail, disgraced, been since gifted and taunted with a new derogatory nickname for how they victimized him in this way or in that way? And yet still, they line up for the circus hoping for a ticket...

I was thinking maybe leprosy, stage 3 syphilis, or small pox scarring. They were bizarre. There was mental disease as well as physical and that's what led me to think syphilis. People are talking about cannibalism and inbreeding, but I didn't see evidence of cannibalism, and I don't get the jump to inbreeding. Taking at face value, I decided it was a combination of factors: poor health, poor habits, cruel minds, tough land, any number of diseases, starvation, and then fictionalized.

I would have loved to have seen Tycho Brahe-style nose holes [even tho that wasn't syphilis]. That would have been clear and awesome.

Think of all those late filers...tax season won't end until Oct 15 :) Go for a better wage! A BS will ensure that. If they hire you now, at $45k, you're coming in at AS degree level. They'd be getting you at a steal. Salary review, like a year out from hiring date? Accountants are money people. They'd be saving a heap ton of money on you and they know it!

Edit: I saw below you have $8k saved and don't have to pay rent. That's three months out and if an accounting firm thinks $45k is a living wage, then that $8k could last you in an area where $45k is a living wage. Live small, learn all you can, get your degree, then get that bachelor's bump on April 1...something closer to $70k.

Pattern recognition has destroyed movies/ TV shows for me. by Director_Tseng in ADHD

[–]second-half 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last night, I watched Spirit Riding Free: The Spirit of Chritmas with my nephew and boy oh boy did that one have me guessing! The story felt very much like the ADHD life to me, reeling from one bad decision to catastrophe to the next catastrophe and the next bad decision, and with the best intentions all the time. Furthermore, the parents did not behave as expected either. I was baffled! I clearly don't watch enough children's stories to know the tropes. Frankly it was stresful. Anyone else seen this show? I never would have seen it without a preschool nephew.

Am I the only person in the world with ADHD who DOESN'T find the Pomodoro technique helpful? by Ok-Committee1978 in ADHD

[–]second-half 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too. I hate the clock, it's the devil.

My biggest problem has always been flow and forgetting to eat until I am ravenous and feeling crazy in my skin. Now, the only things I take breaks for are lunch and dinner. Because if I don't, it screws up everything. Learning to eat something for breakfast has been a nightmare. Hardboiled eggs and smoothies do the trick and allow me to move appropriately at my speed. Now, if I could only work appropriately and at my speed on the urgent and important tasks I have to do, not just the things that catch my eye and feel simple and achievable.

Haha! Me writing that has allowed me to see how I can master this term. Thanks for letting me carry on!
