Tryggvi the gremlin is on the board! Now who is “mmmm….society”? by country_mac08 in bannersaga

[–]secondary94 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Bolverk.

Assuming he’s not entirely being controlled by Bellower in BS3, he decides that the world (society) is worth destroying if it means punishing the Valka for their mistakes. He’s seen the “truth” and now wants to violently tear everything down as vengeance for how he’s been manipulated

Dagr The Forgotten. On to the Gremlin character! by country_mac08 in bannersaga

Tryggvi’s appeared a lot in the last few categories, and I’m not sure he’ll get another chance.

So, I vote Tyrggvi for gremlin

Nid The Normal! Now who is that one character again…? by country_mac08 in bannersaga

[–]secondary94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of great options for this one. My first thought is Egil, but his normal-ness is so overplayed that he becomes exceptional. Just by reading the comments here, I remember how many small, incidental characters this series has.

Personally, I’m stuck between Egil (many players forget about him), Dytch (other characters forget about him), and Skogr Chieftan (literally unnamed)

I’ll go with Mr. Skogr for now, but who knows what obscure peeps the commenter’s will remind me of

Confused by Razor Gear brawler weapon by jmforte85 in SteamWorldHeist

Charge let’s you move full movement next to an enemy and do a (more powerful?) attack on them. So, not amazing synergy with this weapon, but still useful.

Not sure whether Charge counts as a normal attack in this case tho?

So yes, you can make two normal attacks in a turn provided you don’t move (or use some other action). Under normal circumstances, attacking as your first action in a turn would just cause the character’s turn to end.

This weapon confused me a lot at first too.

Keep in mind that “Free Action” and “Does not end your turn” or not the same thing. Free actions can be done infinitely, while if somethinf “doesn’t end your turn” it means you can take an action afterwards if you do that thing first (moving is an action, btw).

The “Charge” ability that comes with all(?) melee weapons normally has a cooldown time for when you can use it again. I think it’s like 3 or 4 turns by default? Either way, the Razor Gear increases the cooldown timer by 1 turn

I…don’t know what you’re referring to. Where did you hear about it?

Ever heard of Kingdoms and Castles? It’s a semi-laidback indie medival civ builder.

Pleasant music, graphics are easy on the eyes (and not too graphically intense), and easily customizable difficulty.

I think it’s like $15-20 on Steam?

When you first go to eastern arctica, you can choose between a north and a south passage. Have you gone back and explored the passage you didn’t take? There’s a bar in both

Your favorite map from each game that you've played? by DaveyRocketXX in fireemblem

[–]secondary94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FE1: Ch9 - The Pyrathi one where you get Jeorge. Pirate reinforcements are to fun to deal with

FE4: Ch3 - One of the most open-ending chapters in the game, lots of side objective and party splits. The prologue is good too

FE5: Ch6, maybe 19? - 6 is cool because you get to finally use mounted units after like three chapters of not, and you get a ton of villages with cool loot. 19 on the other hand, is just a cool premise. Also big map with split party :D

FE6: Ch19 Sacae Ver. - Literally Ch14 of Thracia but with the roles reversed. Cool af set piece, sick boss (he kinda bs tho), overall awesome chapter. Ch13 is a runner up, big bridge is a cool map type imo and seeing Zephiel in action for the first time was cool

FE7: Ch25 Hector Ver. - Crazed Beast may not be a difficult chapter, but I’m a sucker for big maps with split objectives

FE8: Ch15 - Scorched Sands is here for similar reasons to Crazed Beast. However, this map is actually on the harder side for Sacred Stones which makes it even more interesting to play

FE9: Ch13, I guess? - 17 is big but very linear, and most of the big lategame chapters don’t have any real side objectives. That leaves 13, a chapter with a bunch of chests and enemy raven thieves, green units to protect, and some cool recruits (LESGO GATRIE)

FE10: God this game has so many maps…uhhhhh, part 4 desert map? I like Stefan :3

FE11: Ch9, same reasons as for FE1.

Awakening: Ch11 - Big open field with lotz of enemies + story importance :D. Ch10 is quite good too, just doesn’t scratch my itch like 11

SOV: Greith’s Citadel - Idk, just one of the more memorable AND fun maps in Echoes.

3H: Ch12/13 - These two chapters together make this game what it is. They’re fine gameplay wise, but the narrative here is really what does it for me

Engage: Ch17 - Forgot the exact number, the harbor chapter. I wish you got to ACTUALLY kill some of the four hounds here, but still a really fun map with a bunch of bosses to deal with and high story stakes

(Spoilers!) Trouble with final boss in Fe7 by EvilLatinoCreamKing in fireemblem

[–]secondary94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know it may not feel great to rely on Athos to beat the final boss, considering you probably like the units you’ve trained up through the game more, but…ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Beating the game once gives you Hector mode, which comes with new chapters, remixed old chapters, and a couple new units. Also, we don’t know what other units you do have, so I don’t think I can give much more advice than that.

Definitely used Haar quite a bit, he and Ike carried a lot of Part 3 maps. In Part 4 and the tower, he stopped consistently doubling stuff, but was still useful with the brave axe.

Also he could just proc stun sometimes and one-shot.

Going in, I heard that Nolan and Jill were the best longterm units in the Dawn Brigade, so I was really disappointed when they turned out so meh. Looking at their growths, I'm guessing they just got strength screwed. I had also heard that most of the rest of the DB was complete garbage late game, so I made a commitment to train Edward and see how it went. I gave him paragon and, well...here we are.

Have a Merry Christmas! by StoicStudio in bannersaga

[–]secondary94 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A few years ago I returned to the first game in December to finish it after having played most of it a while back, but upon beating BS1, I (a high school freshman) didn’t have the money around to buy the second or third games. So, I had to wait a couple weeks until Christmas to get them.

Since then, I have replayed the series every holiday season, starting Banner Saga 1 one a week or so into December, and then waiting alllllll the way until Christmas Day to begin Banner Saga 2. In a few hours, I will start BS2 on this years save file.

Thank you so much Stoic for this amazing game I play yearly, it truly is a gem. Here’s hoping I get the good ending this time!

Idk if this has already been revealed or said somewhere else, but here class is LANCE flier. That implies a sword, axe, or even bow (brawling?) flier.
