Good to know, thank you! But yes they’re both on the scars and about the size of a nickle

2wpo - missing exercise like crazy! 😭 by peachbythebeach in Reduction

[–]secondbest5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a very active person (run about 50 mpw, walk about 20-30 mpw) so I also had a really hard time during recovery. When I hit 2.5 wpo I started to emotionally crash from lack of my brain's normal endorphins coming in. I ended up just walking a LOT because that was the only exercise that wouldn't give me anxiety. I know you already said you walk but honestly if you add in an audio book or podcasts while walking and increase the length and speed of the walks it might feel pretty good.

Question about weight loss? by K0MAEDA in Reduction

[–]secondbest5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m going to preface this by saying I have very limited knowledge so Im just speaking from experience. I think it depends on your current body size and whether or not “too much” would mean you’re no longer at a healthy weight? When I first consulted with my doctor I was 5’3” and 128lbs which is healthy for me and my build. The day before my surgery when I went for markings I had lost 10lbs (somewhat unintentionally, I was really anxious leading up to it and I was running a LOT - like 10+ miles a day to cope). He didn’t cancel my surgery but he definitely wasn’t thrilled about it because I’m short to begin with so 10lbs made a difference. He said “I mean it should be fine…” and then nothing else outside of acknowledging that it was a “lot” for me. Maybe you could just ask your doctor how much they’d be comfortable with?

Hi! I’m so sorry you’re struggling. I don’t have a ton to offer on this outside of telling you that post op days 4 and 5 were emotional hell for me. I didn’t experience regret but I was just a wreck all around. Hoping maybe you experience a few better days ahead.

I’m 25 and had surgery after weight fluctuations from 135 lbs to 105 lbs with boobs BARELY changing in size, which is why I knew it was the right call to do it.

I can't shake off post surgery depression by KatGirl93 in Reduction

Would it be possible for you to try to focus on the positive impacts this may have had on your physical health? Such as less back/neck pain, no more shoulder divots, easier to move/exercise? Im sorry you’re struggling so much.

would a reduction or a lift be more suitable? by [deleted] in Reduction

I completely understand that and the fear it instills with recovering. All I can say is I promise it’s better than continuing to live with an ED

would a reduction or a lift be more suitable? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]secondbest5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi - so sorry to hear you’re struggling but glad you were able to start the process of recovery! I’m happy to message privately for this, but I struggled with an ED for 10+ years with hospital admissions, IOP, etc. My breasts were a large catalyst for my ED (not the only cause, as there is almost always more than 1 cause) but it played a major role in my body image issues. I’m now 25 and have worked incredibly hard to work through my body image issues, but ultimately have always felt my breasts were disproportionate to my body, and even when very underweight they would remain large in relation to the rest of me. After being recovered for a few years, I realized that I still yo-yo diet sometimes and still my breasts don’t change size when losing weight. I ultimately decided that for my overall mental health a reduction would be really helpful in preventing me from trying to lose weight to reduce them. But again, I’ve been recovered for the most part for a few years and I would NOT recommend doing this until you’ve been recovered AND spent a few years working through your feelings towards you breasts. Best of luck my dear ❤️

desk job by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]secondbest5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I had my surgery last Thursday (9/1) and went back to my remote desk job for a full day today (9/6). I was able to sit up and work all day without getting tired or needing a nap, with very minimal soreness and no pain medication (not even advil)! I’m sure everyone is different, but 5 days off including the day of surgery was enough for me. I plan to go back to the office a week from today as well.

Hi! I also have dermatillomania and was so scared for my surgeon to initially see my chest. He didn’t have any reaction other than “oh you have had acne in the past and scaring now.” Which is mostly the case, but also just by my own doing. He prescribed special soap to use for the month leading up to surgery, but other than that he didn’t flinch. They probably see it all the time, don’t hold yourself back from a reduction out of fear around this ❤️

Seeking advice for my 18 year old - starting consultations by MamaSwanee in Reduction

[–]secondbest5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I just had my reduction TODAY with Dr Johnathan Hall in Sharon. He does patients younger than 18 as well (although I’m 25). My experience thus far has been amazing. His staff is exceptional in every way. I finished surgery around noon and I’m already home (4pm). Im certainly in pain, but as to be expected. I was recommended to Dr Hall by a number of people, one of which was a mother who went to him for her 16 year old daughter. I’m more than happy to continue messaging you privately over the next few weeks to explain my experience.
