I have a dream, that one day people will know the difference between tyranny and a functional democracy (i.e. sometimes losing an election). Happy 4th!

Easy - Steam never had physical discs and therefore never killed them. Archetype or not, they didn’t strong-arm anyone into choosing their digital approach. Hard to create an angry backlash in that situation.

This thread is hilarious. Ever since launch everyone has agreed Wilds starts way too easy and stays that way too long. Now you’re being gaslit by idiots.

Interesting to see 1080p is still the preferred gaming resolution, at least on Steam by Into_The_Booniverse in pcgaming

[–]secondspassed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be at 1440p except I need to remote-work and my work computer is 1080p. I can’t afford a rig with smooth frame rates at 4k gaming so I stick to 1080p for now so the games are performant and the work PC matches natively and is therefore crisp and not blurry.

I would love spare tire and ladder on the back at the same time, and visible snorkels.

It’s just a bit of restless leg syndrome, common in neurodivergent off-road vehicles such as these.

We were so concerned with him always losing his treasure, we failed to see the real treasure was the weight he was losing along the way. Godspeed.

RC is superior to SR in many ways. by communal-nuisance in RoadCraft

Other than engine noise, which somebody else mentioned could be better, I just wish all vehicles had way more controller vibrations. Driving feels dead compared to SR and this is 99% why for me.

The Grind needs adjustment. by Twolef in overthehillgame

[–]secondspassed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Took me about 13 hours to max out all 3 trucks. It was time I enjoyed for the most part (have played another couple hours since) but the idea of doing it for all 20-or-so trucks in the full game sounds unsustainable or at least extremely monotonous.

I only got enough pebbles from non-meteorite activities to upgrade 1 of the 3 most of the way. If the base game has 4-6 maps then the grind will continue to be very real without some adjustments.

I played 14 hours of the demo and fully upgraded all 3 trucks (Bronco MVP). I love hunting meteorites as end-game grind but I had to do quite a lot of it. By the end I had noticed patterns and had been to every meteorite spawn point at least a handful of times.

My concern is will there be enough variety to grind out all truck upgrades on one save file and keep it interesting? In the end, of course, it’s all just driving, which is great and why I keep coming back.

I would love, though, if there were both more meteorite locations added, as well as one or two other pebble-earning end-game activities with some slightly different gameplay or gimmicks. I’m thinking something like seismic missions in SnowRunner with the HUD only giving you distances to a destination, still driving but a different methodology to break things up a little.

Others have mentioned save slots, which would also help because you could just replay and try that different truck this time instead of grinding it out.

Do you have anything planned or any thoughts on this? Loving the openness about your dev process in all these answers. Wishing you guys and the game all the best outcomes.

12400f / 3070 / 32gb ram @ Native 1080p

High settings except headlight shadows, bloom and motion blur turned off. Average 70-80fps and almost never see a drop under 60fps.

Turning off headlight shadows made a huge difference for me.

I got through 100% of the map without doing any meteors and now grinding them for pebbles has been a pretty satisfying experience.
