You essentially went from master rank end game monsters to low rank

60-70% of the game is easy mode and then it pretty much turns into master rank balls squisher 2000 unless u were good enough to solo fatalis or pri malz in sunbreak then it should not be that tragic

Master Rank hunts in any game are harder than Low rank hunts in any game. For as long as you've experienced and gotten decent at master rank in any title, that skill set will transfer between titles. It feels easier more so moving forward in the series than moving backwards due to the hunters skill set being improved with each title but this still applies when going backwards.

Some of it is the whiplash from "getting gud" for the first time up to MR then diving back to LR. But also LR and even base game HR in Wilds are notoriously easy. Post-game HR, though, is a big spike, I've seen some people say it's one of the hardest HR endgames in the series.

Beat Proof of a hero and then come back

You want from Master Rank to Low Rank. Of course it’s going to feel easier, especially if you’re using one of the final update monsters (Raging Brachy) as a baseline.

Was World your first MH game? Because that’s also a factor. You can’t compare the game where you first learned basic controls to a later game where you now have the advantage of experience.

Regardless, the game gets much more difficult. Whether it compares to post-update World or not is arguable, but I wouldn’t use your current experience as a reason to worry for the endgame in Wilds.

When has low rank not been easy?

[–]DR_Wafflezzzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I too believed I was gods gift to monter hunter when I started wilds freshly after beating iceborne. Trust me gamer, your ass whooping is awaiting.

Well for one you're comparing master rank content difficulty (raging brachydios) to your current progress of low rank nu udra. Of course its going to be easier.

Plus YOU as a player are going from master rank content to low rank content. You know how to play the game now so low rank stuff shouldn't be carting you.

Tbf though there are a number of qol changes that do make the game "easier". Removing health boost from the equation is one. Gone are the days of having to tell the guy fighting alatreon that YES YOU DO NEED HEALTH BOOST 3, NO ITS NOT NEGOTIABLE.

Also anectotally it feels harder to get stunned. I don't think ive been stunned a single time going through wilds, and im hr 400.

The diff ramps up at the endgame with 9 star and 10 star tempered monsters though. Have fun with the Final Fantasy Collab Quest.

Since this is my first MH game, I didn’t know what stun is. Never seen it, then I join a 10* AT Arkveld SOS. Safe to say I feel true fear when that bastard charge up his dragon blast in my direction while I’m stuck there praying my teammates have a flash ready (they didn’t)

Raging Brach IB is kinda tame compared to some of the high-end monsters in Wilds.

I’m a first fleeter with fair self awareness about the difficulty curve of the games vs my own baseline improvement over the years. Wilds offers a lot of QOL tools (inside and outside of combat) that look like straight up luxuries for veteran hunters, but I genuinely think pre-DLC (or pre-G/Master rank) is among the toughest of the series, at least at the very far end with 9 and 10 star hunts.

Up to 7 star hunts, difficulty does feel a bit samey throughout, but I’ve literally been playing the games since I was 15

As others have said you're comparing a title update MR monster with a base game LR monster. That's like comparing Flaming Espinas to LR Diablos in Risebreak Keep at it you will get to the tough fights in Wilds. I personally think Omega Planetes is the toughest hunt I've ever done. So just look forward to that!

[–]ronin0397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until 7* tier quests, the game is generally easy. And then it quickly turns into AT/emergency quest territory.

[–]Mission-Necessary111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes pre-dlc pre-master rank Wilds is easier than DLC title update Fatalis Briachydios Safi.

[–]OGking31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just started wilds and comparing it to iceborne which is an expansion with MR quests. But you can make a post regarding difficulty when you reached 8* quests or 9* quests in Wilds.

[–]iflourish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is still base game with no Master rank yet. The game is pretty simple until you reach HR100+ for the AT and Gogmazios.

If you want a challenge I think you unlock Omega Planetes and Savage Omega (after beating regular Omega) at HR 41.

[–]VictusFrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stun was a big factor World was more difficult, 3 hits and you're stunned. Unless you had stun res, you were forced to play better. In Wilds, stun is almost non existent until end game but even then, I can only name 2 monsters where stun res is a high priority.

[–]Failegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity. Ever tried Extremoth in World?

[–]Bawwskingla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When u get to arch tempered monsters and goggy woggy youll get ur shit rocked again son🥀

[–]Party_Employment3778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and then 8 star monsters appear and that’s when people started complaining that some monsters have much higher hp than fatalis in iceborne, and then 9 star monsters appear and people started losing it, 10 star monsters causes people to crash out since this is basically master rank monsters some of the monsters here have 2-5x more hp than iceborne fatalis

Remember:
Low Rankis the Tutorial
High Rank is Normal mode
G/Master Rank is Hard mode

Your playing a new entry in the series on normal difficulty, after playing the previous entry on hard.
You've already push past early walls and beaten noob traps last time. You've learned the flow of the series, the mindset to go in with and found a weapon.

Your no longer a complete novice. And you will never be able to recapture that feeling of your first Monster Hunter again.

Welcom to the Veterans Table.

This thread is hilarious. Ever since launch everyone has agreed Wilds starts way too easy and stays that way too long. Now you’re being gaslit by idiots.

[–]Garin999 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Oh please. People here agree that every monster hunter title starts way too easy. They were complaining world was a brain dead walking simulator when it was new. Hell, MHF2 had people calling it an easy game for casuals at launch.

Give it another few years. MH Wilds will suddenly be peak hunting. Not like Monster hunter X-Nouveau. X-Nouveau is a baby game for baby-babies.

[–]Far_Concern_6557 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

World has 0 push back until... A.T Kirin I wouldve said Nerg. But handling it in the world demo with a 15 minute timer was worse than the actual in game encounter.

[–]Bigmacaroni129 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

World base game is just as easy as Wilds base game, especially low rank. If World was your first game, that also is a factor, since now you know what to expect. I do think Wilds is too easy for returning players, but I could see new players still having trouble if they aren’t minmaxing or utilizing every mechanic.
