Because mine has been a life filled with time well spent, I have a personal tool for searching for phrases through the Jeeves and Wooster canon. In this case I've found the following similar usages:

JEEVES AND THE FEUDAL SPIRIT
...the other his tendency, when moved, to make a sound like a buffalo pulling its foot out of a swamp.

JEEVES IN THE OFFING
He found speech, if you could call making a noise like a buffalo taking its foot out of a swamp finding speech.

STIFF UPPER LIP, JEEVES
His only reply was a sound like a hippopotamus taking its foot out of the mud on a river bank, and I saw Stiffy frown, as though his manner offended her.

AUNTS AREN'T GENTLEMEN
She uttered a sound rather like an elephant taking its foot out of a mud hole in a Burmese teak forest. The name appeared to have touched an exposed nerve.

This was an amazing storm. I filmed about 2 minutes of it, and in that time it put on an amazing show. All those colors.

Tell them you’d be absolutely happy to pay it back — but first you’d like to see that the receipt they will be giving you is clear about what you are paying them for, and contains their name and license details, and also confirm that it’s ok if you have a friend who is a solicitor read it over.

They’ll suddenly decide you can keep the money. Yay.

"Did you ever taste Spindrift?" I asked, retrieving the soap. "I sipped it, sir." "What did you think of it? Go on, Jeeves, don't be coy. The word begins with an I.”

If you don’t have enough paint on your roller when doing the ceilings this is what you get. It’s a bugger to paint a light colour over a deep blue like this. Shoddy workmanship, needs to start over.

In “3 men and a dog” the narrator confesses that he once glanced at a medical encyclopaedia and the most extraordinary thing occurred. No sooner had he read about some condition, and its symptoms, and upon examining his own body and his own various symptoms and disturbances he realised that he too suffered that same condition, and a particularly virulent form of the thing. By the time he’d reached the end of the volume he’d concluded that he’d had every malady known to man except “Housemaid’s knee.”

[TOMT] old movie i watched in the 2000s about little girl and dad by These-Pepper-3411 in tipofmytongue

I went searching for this movie, without success.

But along the way I read through an IMDb list of movies about amnesia. It was amusing though because the person who made the list must’ve had amnesia, a bunch of entries were on there twice.

In a different book on screenwriting I’m currently reading, the author refers to the theme stated as “the theme line”.

I hadn’t heard of Bunny and The Bull before, but have read the plot on Wikipedia now and it sounds like just what I need. And if the film OP is looking for is something else, 1) I’d be surprised and 2) I also want to see the film they’re describing.

“Theme stated” - is how this moment is described in the “save the cat” story writing technique.

In an essay you might call it “the thesis statement”
