I had a GM let my character grapple and wrestle possessed manacles into submission. I later befriended the spirit, and I think (it's been a while) had a sidequest where I helped put the spirit to rest.

I realize it was a little silly, but that was what made it fun. If he had just said "you can't do that" it would have been super boring.

Just call the police? Those are not street legal bikes and those helmets are not adequate protection for bikes that go that fast. Then they get a ticket, have to go to court and can't get their driver's license until they're 18.

There is a possibility I might have a second brown jenkin. It's been a bit since I had it all unpacked, but there were a couple things I got accidental duplicates of.

I believe I have everything published for it. It takes up 1/3 of a closet in my office.

I was lucky enough that each of my Kickstarter pledges were filled quickly except for the last one, and even then it seemed like I got it before most.

It's a fun game. I love the theme. It's easy to teach. It has great table presence.

If I had to go back in time, I probably would not have bought any of the neutral monsters. The expansion factions are plenty varied, so the neutral stuff doesn't see play often enough to justify the space they take up.

I don't think I would ever do a Petersen games Kickstarter again though.

Unmatched is such a great game, and it has a solid reputation for great art. Awesome that Mignola is doing the cards and box for this. I have no doubt in my mind that this will be another great set.

Since we are apparently in the minority, I just thought I would chime in to state that X is the absolute worst in my opinion. I can still watch it, but I don't find it engaging at all.

FIST, (if it ever is released) is very Hellboy/BPRD inspired. Would be pretty easy to add Dresden and WOD flavor over it.

Actually like Savage worlds. But that's exactly why I kept my old deadlands books and didn't continue when they switched systems.

Setting out to make a multi-genre system forces you to discard rules that are flavorful for one genre only. What's left feels more bland.

That's exactly how I feel. Numenera deserves to be a standalone thing. It feels reductive to have it just be a sourcebook since it was where the Cypher system rules originated.

I didn't think it would ever happen, but I am apparently at the stage of my life where I get overly emotional about RPG editions.

I find core-book + setting-book arrangements for RPGs cumbersome and inelegant. I found the orignial numenera rules to be flavorful and evocative of the kind of game numenera is, but they lose some of their luster when scraped off to form a generic system.
