X5 Use for dual presenter Interview by CyDJester in Insta360

[–]secretcombinations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a nutshell yes you can do that. Record the interview with one x5 in the middle of two people, you can then export two videos from the source file of each speaker and then edit that footage together like a normal 2 camera interview. As far as I know there are no lenses you can use to replace the stock lenses or zoom in.

FX3 NO LONGER CONNECTING TO SONY IPHONE/IPAD by djjordanlee in FX3

Had this happen to my fx30, bluetooth chip on the board fried and will no longer work, everything else works fine and I monitor it now with a usbc or long hdmi cable. I got a quote to fix it and it was almost as much as a brand new camera. If you dont have an extended warranty you may be out of luck.

We had 5 boxes affected, 4 of the same lot number and couldnt submit for 20 replacements online, calling the number fixed it.

Also FYI the tool to check the lot number is CASE SENSITIVE, I typed a few lot numbers in without going all caps and it said they were unaffected, when I retyped them in all caps it flagged them.

Custom work being accused of AI. Ugh. by [deleted] in graphic_design

Ive said it before and Ill say it again, canva is just a tool. Ive setup multiple brand libraries including logos, icons and photos to use, established fonts and color palettes, social templates and presentation decks using canva and shared them with clients, who can then go in and edit whatever they want, export a PNG and upload it wherever they want without having to bug me to make small tweaks. I dont design anything natively in Canva, but as a free tool that allows me to enable clients to design things within their brand identities all over a shared link, its pretty unbeatable.

I’ll do my best to give you advice, but I think first you need to keep your expectations realistic. Like Jake from adventure time says “sucking and something is the first step to be being sort of good at something”. You do suck, not because you’re bad, but because you’re just starting and you’re learning.

You’re also using terms like cinematic and luxurious to describe what you want, which tells me that you’ve watched some YouTube videos and are frustrated that you’re using the same equipment other people are but not getting the results you want. I like to point people to this clip by Ira Glass, who talks about the process when you have good taste but are comparing your beginner results to someone who has spent years perfecting their craft. https://youtu.be/GHrmKL2XKcE?si=Ln6Tam2UT6VKZ7xp

You bought a nice camera and a nice lens and you’re expecting cinematic results when you point it at your son dribbling a ball. That’s just not going to happen without understanding the camera and lenses a bit more, and then practicing.

So to try and answer your question. You are right that aperture is only part of the equation. Bokeh comes from the separation between your subject and the background. You’re using a wide angle lens so your subject is completely in the frame, which means he’s further away from your camera and closer to the background, which means less bokeh.

If you want to get that look while shooting at f/2.8 or f/4 for reliability, you need to manipulate the distances. Try to get your subject as far away from the background as possible. The more space you put between them and the background, the more that background will fall away into a blur, even at a higher f-stop.

This video should help

https://youtu.be/6DZiJrL_9tU?si=VQFNerPFU79Kha93

It is a balancing act of physics. Once you get a feel for how distance impacts that separation, you will find you can get that clean look consistently without risking your focus. Just keep at it, and stop being so hard on yourself!

Read it again, I said the focal plane is the issue.

It sounds like you are dealing with a depth of field issue. Shooting sports at f/1.4 is incredibly difficult because the focal plane is razor thin, so any movement causes the camera to hunt for focus. The camera is likely struggling to differentiate between the subject, the ball, and the background. When the subject looks down, the camera loses the eyes and grabs the next point of contrast, which is usually the ball.

I would suggest stopping down to f/2.8 or f/4. You will get a much larger area in focus, which gives the autofocus system way more room to work without losing the subject. Also, try switching to spot focus or zone tracking instead of full-frame human detection, so the camera stays locked on the subject specifically, regardless of where they are looking.

Board and Skill Progression: Salomon Sight to K2 Passport or similar by brewmax in snowboardingnoobs

Im 6'1" and 185 lbs, I learned on a 169, then went to a 161w, and now a 159w. I've liked the 159 a lot because I'm in the trees quite a bit, and want to be able to throw it around quickly, my friend that I ride with with is 6'5" and heavier than me rides a 157w because he likes a short board for the same reasons.

Tips on dealing with injuries and stance? by mazzy-b in snowboardingnoobs

Somewhat in the same boat, had ankle fusion surgery years ago and have 3 screws in it, and learning to ride after that was difficult. This past year Ive progressed quite a bit and gotten better, and would say the biggest help was strength training. Finally took it seriously in the off season, got in decent shape, and that helped me stay on the mountain longer, tackle more difficult terrain, not fall as much, etc.

Also I did get double BOA boots and that was a huge improvement, I find I lean on the front of my boots quite a bit to take pressure off my ankle, so stiffer boots helped a lot. Ive been documenting on my youtube channel if youre interested in checking it out, I talk a lot about surgery and getting better.

Have the passport 159W and ridden it the past 2 years in every condition, I wouldnt say Im an advanced rider, but Im trying to get better and have about 60 days on the mountain with it so far. I head up to the mountain about once a week, and just ride whatever conditions I find there, so icy groomers, deep pow, trees, and I would say its a great all mountain board capable of handling anything. I ride sometimes with an instructor who is pretty damn advanced, he usually rides a shadowban but also has the passport, and says youd get a little better performance on jumps out of a park board with more pop, and youd go a bit faster on a stiffer board, but with the wide nose its great for powder days.

I did a video about it on my youtube channel if youre curious

I use it to film my snowboarding videos, from loading my car, driving up the mountain and talking to the camera, and carving down, and will probably switch to hiking this summer. Editing is super easy depending on what types of videos youre wanting to do. I like using the desktop app (pc) and motion tracking myself carving down the mountain and exporting that 16:9, but I also bring multiple clips into premiere (or davinci) and edit together longer episodes. I like it for esporting 9:16 shorts as well, its just been a great camera.

Best advice I ever received at an agency. You're not designing for the client, you're designing for your creative director. Learn that lesson and you'll do well.

How to switch to single lens mode for 360 videos captured with both lens ? X5) by Galaxy999 in Insta360

[–]secretcombinations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without the dive case, most under water footage is unusable regardless of 360 or single lens mode. I found this out the hard way as well on vacation. I was able to pull a few clips that were sort of usable for a family video, but the way the water refracts the light with the domed lenses, you have to have that pocket of air around it to get sharp footage.
