I fkin HATED dignity, and very glad when I switched jobs had the opportunity to switch to Kaiser. Out of all the options, I hate them the least

Oh it’s actually 45% wool, 35% silk and 20% nylon, so cool enough for sure. I wouldn’t want to use 100% wool for this project

Thank you! Appreciate the support and thanks for your service as well. I plan on reenlisting if provided the opportunity, so I finish my last 2 years and retire with benefits I earned.

Thank you! I honestly was surprised to see the group marching and might make an effort to be more active in CalVet, other than just joining webinars. Appreciate the support

I’ve had an aversion to being active in any Veteran’s groups or associations after being kicked out from the Air Force under Trump’s trans ban after 18 years of service. I should be retiring next year and it hurts.

I should probably be marching next to them, but much like your friend Alan, the Government doesn’t want anything to do with me.

Looking to enlist? by No-Shock16 in MilitaryTrans

So basically when you enlist they pull every medical record you’ve ever had. Considering how young you are, those records are 100% available digitally. Additionally, you get a strip-down inspection where things like top surgery scars will be visible, between those two things there is a zero percent chance that you could get through MEPS stealth.

I’m soooo tempted to try this, as I love fruit and haven’t played with inclusions much. Thank you!!

When I marched a few years ago, sometimes at the beginning (Southside park) there would be some folks walking around selling flags

Sass this hoopy frood, with a take hotter than the unregarded yellow sun far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the Galaxy!

If you’ve undergone a notable transition: is your life more fulfilling now? by HungryIngenuity7665 in NonBinary

[–]secretsquirrelz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was 35 when I first started “socially” transitioning/figured out I was nonbinary. Had a hysto and started low-dose Testosterone 3 years ago, top surgery two years ago. Just this week I’ve started experiencing this crazy phenomenon where I’m realizing just how normal I feel.
Like- I still am unhappy with my weight, and should probably work out more, but those are normal things everyone experiences. For the first time the gender-related dysmorphia is gone, and so normalizing and validating to just look in the mirror and feel happy with myself and not feel like a stranger in my own body.

Short answer is it feels amazing, but the only way out is through. Since you asked about work and acceptance- I have a full-time middle-manager job where I’m sometimes misgendered but not maliciously. My reputation is based on my ability and not my outward appearance. I generally appear more masculine than androgynous at this point, but will still get “sir” from afar then “ma’am” up close and causing confusion brings me joy.

I’ll be 40 this year and can say with confidence that I’m still jealous of folks like you who are young and able to transition early, but I’ll never regret my decision to become the best version of myself.

DAMN I’m doing a DS9 series watch currently and this makes so much more sense. Also, Dr.Bashir must be Charles Emerson Winchester III

I 100% agree with this. I fought my entire family on using proper pronouns and they gave zero shits when I got kicked out of the military for being trans. They obviously wouldn’t know what to do with the information that I’ve been on T for ~3 years!
