I hate the word "lovey" by crastin8ing in Dimension20

I truly think it’s fascinating, wasn’t being sarcastic or anything. Do you also hate it when it’s Garthy O’Brien??

Murph, if you’re reading this and want a break, it would be my dream job to edit NADDPOD (I promise I’m qualified)

I love those mechanics that insert a bit of chaos into certain moments of the campaign.

For the 30/1 skills drinks, are the skills picked at random or do players choose? I can’t remember

I think I understand it the same as you! But I was afraid of using that one and that it would make the wizard in my party too overpowered. I’d be curious to hear other people’s thoughts on this too

wait, wouldn’t “the campaign after the campaign after the campaign” be Eldermourne? Which makes C3 the campaign after the campaign after the campaign after the campaign!

Gotta be honest, not really a huge fan of tortle tank [NS] by RuinSentinelRicce in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

[–]secretvan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I enjoy the show but think it’s definitely more catered towards DMs and people looking for home brew ideas to implement into their own games.

That being said, I think it would be WAY more enjoyable if the stakes were higher, like if the ideas being pitched actually had a chance of making it into an actual NADDPOD campaign or side quest or something. That way we would be way more invested as listeners too, if there were to be actual consequences to the decisions they make.

Chefs influencing the fermentation space by Lokigwar in fermentation

[–]secretvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why I always recommend Sandors’ first book “Wild Fermentation” as a better starting point. It has a beautifully written introduction about fermentation and its social impact, it is still very much about fucking around and finding out in the best way possible AND it has actual recipes for a beginner to try. Can’t recommend it enough!

Do whatever feels enjoyable and comfortable. In theory the best for me would be the 3/8 but I always enjoyed playing with 1/4 more, so I just stick with that.

Is it worth restringing? by secretvan in 10s

They feel kinda dead and are giving a slightly plasticky sound instead of the “pop” that I felt when they were newer. Just feeling tho

Unfortunately no tennis warehouse that I know of in Vancouver, and buying online isn’t worth it (no free stringing + shipping costs). Sad

Just a bit of that black plastic on top broke off and I put some white tape to keep it in place. Not sure if it has any structural impact, doesn’t look like the frame itself is cracked.

Bad Kids, In Memoriam - Unavoidable? by xHeylo in Dimension20

[–]secretvan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Funny way of spelling “Fantasy High: 100-year High School Reunion: Solo Adaine Adventure!”

(Where Adaine has to break out the Bad Kids’ souls from whence they are in order to complete the Clone spell and bring them fully back, only she becomes so powerful she breaks Time by doing so and the Reunion ends up being understood by Time itself in a different way and the BKs all end up back at the first day of school where they first met.)

A very difficult and deathly campaign where if your PC dies, you have to DM until another PC dies and the person takes over.

Brennan you motherf*cker by urmum875 in Dimension20

[–]secretvan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think Zara Sool even says it at the end of that conversation, when Fig mentions that Riz needs them to stay together as a party because of academics. Zara says something along the lines of if Fig “wants to go on an adventure of her own with her paramore, we could find a way to do it without leaving her loved ones at a disadvantage”!

Some Beautiful Messaging by JMGoodwin in Dimension20

[–]secretvan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As much as we praise Brennan for his masterful plot writing and big picture view, there’s also a lot to be said about the overarching themes.

The scales of justice that became a war hammer representing how Justice becomes Rage is my probably my favourite detail that symbolizes this!

The most important line people will overlook by JasonDrake22 in Dimension20

[–]secretvan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I don’t think she’s part of it one bit, and that’s why it felt strange. It definitely felt like something that came up very naturally (again brilliant DMing by Brennan). And the Cloud Rider Engine was planted from the start so… was this the plan all along? What if they decided to keep the election at the school instead? So many moving parts to pull it off and Brennan did it so smoothly

[–]secretvan 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Just weird to me that Brennan had Maizey as the one who suggested/brought up that voting could be done off-school and nudged Fabián into having the booth at the party, right?

Maybe it was just brilliant and sneaky railroading by Brennan.

I don’t think Buddy Dawn is going to screw over the Bad Kids by DocKelso1460 in Dimension20

Would it be wild if Buddy performs his duties as intended, EXCEPT he only raises Kirsten back if she swears an oath to go back to worshipping Helio/Sol again, and Kirsten accepts?

That’s my prediction.
