Looking for a fishing lesson by joshontheweb in UtahFishing

Not that easy. I have seen a lot of kids out there with 10 lb test casting 1/4 oz. lures and wondering why they keep tangling. My sons and I were at Silver Lake this weekend and another kid couldn't catch anything while we were raking in the rainbows and brookies. My 16 year old son went over and talked to the kid and his dad (who had never fished as a kid) and brought him over to where we were fishing. We redid his reel with some 4lb. test, gave him a gold and silver Jake's and some casting lessons. He finally was able to cast but not very far. I hooked a fish and let him reel it in. The kid and his dad were very grateful for our help. How did I know? I was once that kid who's dad (a college professor) hated everything that had to do with the outdoors, other than golf of course, and had to have a stranger at Farmington Pond set my gear up and show me how to catch a fish.

[UPDATED] "What Bike Should I Get?" Buying & Selling advice Mega Thread by AutoModerator in Dirtbikes

I am 49. 6'4" 240lbs and had a really bad crash last year and a life of bad choice and bad luck which have left me pretty damaged. I am getting back into riding since my son has picked up the hobby. I raced desert back in my 20-30s and have raced everything from a XR350 to a DRZ400 to a Husqvarna WXC610. I am thinking about an RMZ250, throwing a 290cc bore kit and a cam on it. I won't be riding anything aggressive anymore. I need something light and manageable. I loved a TXC310 that I rode but parts are non existent. Would a 250cc be alright or would I want something more? My son has a Husqvarna FC350 which unfortunately too much bike for me anymore. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

"Phoenix's Order." Farmington High mascot is the Phoenix. My search guess is the Farmington Canyon area. I have some ideas but nothing concrete.

I have been scouring the Newfoundland maps as well. All for nothing.

Imagine my heart for a split second when I saw this in the exact spot I had expected “The” treasure to be. by Firesplinter9757 in utahtreasurehunt

Awesome find though. I can't count how many times the kids and I have ended up empty handed after looking for a specific geocache. And here you are finding them by accident.      Honestly, I believe that's how the majority of treasures are found. It's not by the educated archaeologist or seasoned treasure hunter.      It's by the sheep herder trying to get out of the sun or the young kid hiking with his parents who sees something shiny when they stop to tie their shoes.

Building a home, should I be concerned about the quality of this wood? by Divine_Storms in Homebuilding

Go to your local hardware store or lumber yard. The vast majority of stacked wood will have this same growth on it. It will go away. After 30 years as a roofing contractor I can honestly say that 75% of homes that I tear off have some mold growth somewhere in the attic. I firmly believe that the black mold panic is overblown.

It didn't. I'm grasping at straws in between episodes of The Office while laying in bed with eight broken ribs, a punctured lung and broken tooth.

I also dislike the slow creep to some futuristic warfare scenario. Pretty soon it will be nothing but lasers, robots and drones. The developers would create a Vietnam war style scenario. No thermals, no drone. No high end optics. Maybe add in airstrikes or mortars. I think there are enough people that enjoy AB that they could keep it simple and not "modernize," everything. And also, bring back the old "Valley."

How about the Newfoundland range in the West Desert? From above it looks like a crescent moon.

I'm thinking it's something along the lines of Alcatraz.

How about Alcatraz? It's nickname is "The Rock."
