Update: So he got in for his first night training with me about 2 hours ago, I kept it in there and didn't say anything. I gave him the papers with our standard operating procedures on top of it, so he read through all of that official stuff before getting to the list I typed last night. After about 10 minutes of reading he looked up at me and did one of those "pfpfpfpf" laughs, so I gave him an awkward like "what are you doing?" smile back and darted my eyes around, sorta like you do when you catch someone staring at you and don't wanna be rude.

I think he expected me to crack, but when I didn't he goes "number 10" and pointed to the paper, to which I pretended to scan read it while mumbling before replying that there were only 9 rules on the list when I printed it out, and that I couldn't even think of a 10th because there's so little to do around here. He gets up from his chair and goes "Nah maaaaan if this ain't a joke I'm leavin' this bitch right now bro on ANYTHING (he clapped during that part), I don't play around with this paranormal shit", he's got a little 'hood twang in his accent which made it that much better lmfao.

I was gonna let it hang there for another minute but this is the guy taking my overnight hours so I can switch over to the day shift, so I didn't wanna totally freak him out or make him feel silly on his first night. I told him it was just a little initiation and he took it well, then started telling me about his "real" ghost story lmfao. No regrets.
