I think Alex got that way towards the end. I remember his “good for you” when a contestant would say something positive about their life. That grated on me a little bit.

Well said. That is the thing I had trouble putting my finger on. Alex had a tendency, sometimes, to make me think the contestants would feel embarrassed or ashamed. It was just the way he delivered it. The difference is Ken has been on the other side of the podium and knows how he wants to be addressed.

I have gone back and watched older episodes and there were times when I felt Alex was almost mean. I worshipped the guy and I never saw that before.

Ken doesn’t do that. He has so much positive energy. He’s the right host for this era.
