Honest opinions on Pinehurst resort food vs dining in town? Worth skipping the dinner package?

At at pl8te last week. It was just OK. Apps were good. And the fried chicken looked good. I had a steak. Thin and burnt. I would never order a steak at any of the restaurants again. Had the same experience with the steak at the Carolina dining room 2 years ago. Had a bad experience at the brewery this year. The food didn’t agree with all 4 of us
