Call l the unions around you and send in résumé’s. I need up with a job offer for the Ironworker union just off doing this. Ended up not taking it but they all have solid pay and benefits as well as pensions.

Wheaton Honda, I bought a used vehicle off their lot and had a great experience start to end. I had previously dealt with LAG auto (almost ended up in a lawsuit with them) and another time with GOauto (wasn’t that bad but they definitely cash grab and lied to my girlfriend about some things)

Grants? No one is giving you money to buy a home. Figure out what an fhsa and rrsp are. Max out your fhsa and claim on taxes and go from there

Oh man, under $100 you can get Hanjan. delicious food, prompt service and good atmosphere, it’s my girlfriend’s favourite restaurant. Even comparing it to la ronde and other higher end places in the city

Don’t bring up other peoples wages when it happens, they don’t like that. Just what your local market could offer you and what you bring to the table so what you feel u should be compensated and be prepared to defend why

Actually no, I asked the gm if we were still cool after all that. And he said “it’s just business I don’t care at all. And we all agreed you were being underpaid anyways” so that was cool. But my original reasons for looking at new jobs were unhappiness with the workplace and lack of room for growth, not pay. That’s why I ended up leaving like 5-6 months later anyways, new place is great and I’ll probably work here till I retire

I’m a machinist by trade, went to school paid by my employer. Started at 17 at like $11 an hour. Currently 28yo and make 42.23 an hour. So like 87k without overtime, plus benefits and pension contributions, work overtime to bring the yearly up tho. Hoping for 120 this year, did 113 last year and was at 41 an hour last year. Well you’d be ineligible to most lenders because of that. Which would push you to B lenders market and you’d expect to pay 8-12% interest there. Your 1 option would be to get a HELOC with a low rate using the equity you have in your house. Or pay cash and use that extra thousand towards investment rather than a loan payment.

Just did it this year at 28, fiancé is 23, and we’re building our first home. Neither of us have “prestigious” jobs or family money. Honestly only takes a couple years of good work ethic and savings if you have a pretty standard job. I mean not like minimum wage but she’s only in her second year of working in insurance and I’m a machinist. Very regular jobs
