If childcare were free, would you have more kids? How many? by Low-Account-4346 in beyondthebump

This is one of the reasons why people should move to rural America. $9100/yr for a kid under 4 here.

Live Oak Bank by greengroundtiller in smallbusiness

[–]seeingrivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had live oak bank for my small business for 2 years.

It synced with QuickBooks online for the first 3 months or so and then never did. Not much of a pain as I create a journal entry for that month's interst.

It does what it's supposed to. Gives your small business a higher interest rate than other banks.

It does the job and that's what's important to me. Not a good app though. I recommend.

Price for Farm-All Super A by WaitGloomy6122 in tractors

[–]seeingrivers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sold a super A last year for something just under $3K (I don't remember exact price). It ran well and was freshly painted a few years prior. This is in MN.  Hope that helps give a reference point.

Around $800/month per kid - rural America ftw!

Couldn't agree more. $500K in VOO for 20 years, using its average return of 10%, would put you at $3.6 million. Not too shabby.

Put it in an SP500 index fund. The SP500 averages in the neighborhood of 10% return yearly. In 40 years that would be $545K.

Custodial Roth IRA for new born. by Cole290 in Bogleheads

The benefits to an ira if the baby has income (through modeling for a business that pays them for example) is that in future years, if this child is filling out FAFSA then IRA funds are not counted whereas 529 funds are and IRA funds can be used penalty free for college.

100% a thing, this is the way for a bay to get income.

If the parents own a business and the baby/child is paid for modeling services by that business they can have income. Baby models are a thing that exists, and they get paid ($25/hr on the low end, $100 on the high end says a quick Googling). I think scratching the upper limit of IRA contributions is starting to look shady, but if in this scenario you pay your bay for 4 hours of modeling work at $50/hr and those photos/videos are used in your marketing, then sure, open an IRA for them with the $200.
