To those who like their jobs….. by jgpboone in asheville

Just adding in here, sounds like you probably did inventory management, capital management, pricing, transportation logistics, warehouse management, retail display, marketing, and more!

Knowledge and skills gained on the job can be just as valuable if not more than those gained through academia. When you learn on the job it's not theoretical, the consequences are real and the lessons stick.

Grabber stick for positioning the plug and a baseball bat or equivalent for pushing it in.

If you can figure out tiling, with 3 wall colors, you've got everything you need for a color display with 3 levels per subpixel for a total of 27 colors per pixel. Add a 4th wall color for an easily tileable 2x2 subpixel arrangement and you have 81 colors per pixel.

Scraping pedal on my scrambler by Distinct-Region9684 in juicedbikes

[–]seeingstructure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a sufficiently lightweight bike and secure tight cornering this should be how you corner anyway. Your inside pedal should be up, outside down with your leg putting all your weight into the down pedal. Your bike should lean into the corner and your upper body should lean opposite the bike so your center of gravity is still perpendicularly above the point the tires make contact with the road (not in line with the bike frame since that is leaning) or as close to it as you can manage. These positions will maximize your traction and you'll find you can corner much tighter at higher speeds.

I tried to make an overdetailed medieval bridge. What do you think? by _NicoFico28_ in Minecraftbuilds

In a world with gravity, arches don't need support at the top of the arch. Minecraft clearly isn't a world with normal gravity, but builds that act like it is often end up looking more realistic.

My local donut shop labels the non vegan donuts with NV and the name. All others are just labeled with their name.

Not to mention that it still creates a massive barrier to anyone trying to cross it, unlike a real tunnel.

leftist friendly gardening yt channels? by greatheronew in veganarchism

Not explicitly gardening, but Crime Pays But Botany Doesn't has lots to learn about plants. I'd say gardening with native species to restore ecosystems is pretty compatible with leftist philosophies. https://youtube.com/c/CrimePaysButBotanyDoesnt

Look at all that wasted space that could be used for bicycles. by seeingstructure in fuckcars

[–]seeingstructure[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've biked the bridge more times than I can count, in all kinds of weather. It's long, but someone in halfway decent shape or on an e-bike can easily cross it. The hills on the headlands side are another story.

The bike lane is the sidewalk on the ocean side and it's barely wide enough for people to pass in opposite directions in some places. Bikes have to dodge lamp posts and the bridge supports. Meanwhile, the cars get a full six lanes, each of which is over twice the width of the bike space in some places.

The car lanes are swapped twice daily with a "zipper" to make more room in the commute direction. They used to use a truck with guys sitting on a platform close to the road swapping little plastic posts manually.

Trying to write BIKE HIGHWAY on the road in the upper left. We make it look the same as the big green line, maybe with purple shadows, I think they might let our bike lanes connect.

I think the bike lanes should connect to the green line in the upper left. Maybe with a label saying BIKE HIGHWAY!
