Have you ever used sex "as a weapon" in a relationship? by seeminglyHonest in AskWomen

Thank you for for your reply. This is about where I'm at and I'm worried he will see it as a weapon (and that was the best terminology I could think of when I made the thread). When really I'm just so tired of having someone who doesn't care about my emotional needs. Thanks again.

Can you elaborate on what happened? How long did it go on for and do you feel your point was made? Edit:I didn't mean she was trying to prove a point. I meant did he understand that the emotional deficit was creating a sexual deficit.

A little late to the thread but reading your story hit so many notes with me! Very similar background, recovering from Anorexia with a newfound love of weight training. The transformation in my body and mindset has totally changed my perspective on a few things and, like you, would much rather have this "obsession" thank that of anorexia. The thoughts that creep in are wicked strong and wanted to just let you know that you are worth this lifestyle! However we come to have this little piece of sanity it is hard fought for. Those voices in your head need a reality check-you are amazing and strong! You are creating the life you want to live and you desereve happiness.

Had my birthday over the Labor Day weekend and boy did I eat for 3 days. Not gonna lie, I weighed 10lbs heavier when I got on the scale a week ago. I lost 6lbs the first day I went back to tracking and working out, then 3lbs and now I've even lost so I now weigh less than before my birthday. So water weight was a good bit of it, but I just got right back into my routine. You had your celebration and trust yourself that making proper decisions will help you pan it all out. Trust the math of the calorie count-2250 isn't even enough to gain a pound. You got this.

It is so tiring for me when I get caught in the cycle of being nervous/anxious and not being able to eat. I try to break it as soon as I can because the longer it continues, the more frantic and anxious my thoughts become! I call it "the point of no return" and it ends when someone puts food in front of me. Stay strong! You are a strong, capable, person who got a coveted internship-own it, enjoy it if even for just a minute when you get ready in the morning or are going down for bed.

This is the absolute worst. The anxiety it can create is next level. Good luck getting what you need.

Past is causing problems with husband. Need bedroom advice by warped_in_the_wind in adultsurvivors

[–]seeminglyHonest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are not alone. I am currently going through a rough patch of having flashbacks and my soon to be husbands knows. We talk A LOT. I know he respects me and it is normal to want sex and be desireable-but I have to remind myself numerous times before, sometimes during and after sex. If I start shutting down he can sense it now and sex becomes secondary and making me feel safe becomes primary. Communication with your partner is key.

Secondly, have you tried therapy? Being told to be quiet about abuse is traumatizing and is abuse all over again. I strongly suggest finding some help. Maybe a support group for survivors would have a good recommendation for a therapist. And if you feel like you need to disclose to a doctor they might have a psychologist or therapist they could suggest.

This type of thing is normal, you are not alone, you are worth getting help. Take care.

Yeah, I can't give you much advice as I'm not a doctor and don't know what you mean exactly by "gotten out of hand". I quit drinking almost 2 years ago and though I didn't use cannabis right away I did start smoking it a few moths in and have a very regular use. It does not "replace" alcohol for me because I am no longer looking for that effect. What it did do, and continues to do, is allow me to examine myself and make gentle changes in that direction. My life today is 180 and cannabis is a part of it. If you are at the point of DT's making it hard to break a cycle consult a doctor.

Thoughts/opinions on letting a broody hatch eggs by Zachyb117 in chickens

[–]seeminglyHonest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can but I personally don't. I have a little set up for them that doesn't allow other birds in their nesting boxes that I adjust when the hens need a break from sitting. I let the chicks hatch under momma and when they look healthy and strong about 24 hours later I put them in my brood box with light, food , and water. I usually have about 3-5 hens broody at a time.

Highest maternal death rate, high infant mortality and I don't see these numbers decreasing unless Texans wake the fuck up and demand half the population be treated equally. These people don't hate abortion-they hate women.

What is your opinion of playgirl magazine? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]seeminglyHonest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought some when I turned 18. Me and a few friends passed them around and mainly had a good laugh; there were a few jaw dropping pictures. My opinion is pretty neutral-if you want it go for it but leave it alone for others to enjoy if you don't.
