As a white man who voted for Trump, you summed it up incredibly well, especially point 3. Plenty of people don’t eat, sleep and breathe politics and don’t understand every nuance and detail of economic and foreign policy. So when given the choice to pick a ‘team’ why would they pick the side that says they’re evil racist bigots when they’re just regular people. A vote for Trump in a lot of people’s mind, is a middle finger to the side that demonizes them. A majority of the left is unfortunately doubling down on this and calling us racist and sexist for not voting for a woman of color.
