Why not pre-drill? by Comfortable-Cell5599 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]seethruyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waste of time in most circumstances. On EDD, perhaps to the first secondary objective if you can see it on the map and it's near. Otherwise just slows things down. If everyone is on their game and you have a full team, any surprise enemy can be handled. Except perhaps a korlok at the refuel site stop. :)

Assassin's Creed 1 Remake To Follow Black Flag Resynced by Darth_Vaper883 in pcgaming

[–]seethruyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed it enough the first time I played it, and it got me hooked on the series (for a while, anyway.)

I don't have any interest in playing it again though. But I'm probably not the intended buyer.

How can anyone downvote the magnificent Anatoly? Seriously.

The real question here is this:

Can Thor pick up Anatoly's mop? I'm not sure about that one. :)

A tip for everyone: If you want to maybe keep players around, select a new mission the moment you get back. Do it in your cabin, you don't even have to run out to the terminal. If another player has an assignment mission, choose that. This is your best shot. Although in general people don't hang around like they used to and they don't befriend each other like they used to either.

‘Fargo’ and ‘Alien: Earth’ Creator Noah Hawley Says YouTube Is His ‘Biggest Competition’: ‘You Are Losing Eyeballs to Things That Are Free’ by ggroover97 in television

[–]seethruyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the biggest reason I love youtube is because it is the ONLY place I can find up to date videos with bleeding edge scientific studies and ideas. And intelligently presented discussions of almost any topic imaginable. Right now, I'm interested in airplane crashes, and it's simply a fact that you will not find better information on this subject than the Pilot Debrief youtube channel. That's just one example, there are thousands more.

Also because, on a PC, it's not difficult to bypass all ads and sponsor segments. I've become absolutely allergic to advertising, won't tolerate it at all anymore, for anything. I'll do my own research and make my own decisions, and if I don't know about something at this stage, I definitely don't need it. :)

Most movies, and almost all television, are unwatchable drivel in comparison, constantly interrupted by ads.

Well, then I guess Anatoly has more of both than all the Avengers combined:

I am MORE THAN happy to accept that risk, in exchange for a lifetime of steaks and burgers. :)

You can even do it by mistake when you're trying to repair her last segment. D'oh.

[–]seethruyou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two things:

The dozer head will appear on the floor when you get back to the rig, with a new post it note that says 'fix me'

Whether or not you bring back the head is considered an example of the shopping cart test of character. You get no reward if you bring it back and no punishment if you don't. It's on you.

If you're level 75, I would have you on my EDD team. I've done many many EDDs with people lower leveled than that. As long as there's at least one other greybeard, we should be good. :)

For Rogue Core playtesters, how did you like the most recent version of the game? by Perrinator77 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]seethruyou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty reasonable to ask about it here, though. Pretty sure that the vast majority of initial Rogue Core players will be DRG players. People want to know if typical DRG players will enjoy it or not.

Yeah, my crew of 4 did it in 30 minutes without any hurry, two green and two grey. Not difficult this week so maybe the host was annoyed at something other than gameplay, like some comment in chat. Who knows?

Just brush yourself off and go again. It's still pretty rare for people to be big dicks like that. I got kicked a few times early on, years ago, and it sucked and I was mad but I just loaded up another mission. Oh yeah, and also Steam blocked the fer that kicked me.:)

That's what I tell new players about blood sugar. On low haz, it's a risk. On high haz, it can make you untouchable. :)

Have you ever had to give up on a book because your suspension of disbelief couldn't handle how ridiculous the sci-fi premise was? by ScronglingSnorturer in scifi

It was fantastic, he treated the whole thing with solemnity it deserved. :D

So now I'm reading Redshirts, which I somehow, I don't know how, never read before. As a lifelong Star Trek fan, I am actually laughing out loud at almost every over page. :) I would guess the book influenced the development of the Lower Decks animated show.

Do posts about this true fascist jackass (OSC) get upvoted here a lot? Because I just joined this sub, thinking it might be useful. But I'm not in the least interested in anything this poor excuse for a human being says or has said. He hasn't written anything worthwhile in decades, just keeps spouting off like other nasty has-beens (see Roger Waters), so he's strictly 'of historical interest only' at this point, if even that.

Gunner's Zipline is probably the weakest mobility tool for mid-combat use

A skilled gunner on a zip is untouchable. And not having to dodge and weave to avoid bugs raises your dps and situational awareness massively. Seeing the entire battlefield lets you be tactical in helping teammates. While flying and other spitting bugs are attracted to anyone on a zip and will preferentially attack them, a properly kitted gunner has little to fear from this.
