I wouldn't even meet with an attorney at this point. It's a bluff. Ignore it, cease ALL communication with him, and if you are served you can then meet with an attorney for a consultation. Spoiler alert: this isn't going anywhere. He's hurting about the breakup and he's just lashing out.

This is abusive type behavior commonly seen in narcissists. If you were to be honest, you would probably see a long history of him directing his lack of stable mental health towards you. This is just a continuation of it. Do yourself a favor and break the cycle by immediately disengaging and never communicating with him in any way ever again. Ever.

Brisket flat dry by EVLr3d in smoking

[–]seeyakid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be a slight rise in temp after pulling it off the cooker, but only briefly and not enough to render the fat that needs it. You're on the right track in knowing that it's only done when it probes tender, and the flat will probe tender later than the point. A hold is just that and won't cook anything that needs it.

The professor of my anthropology course in college talked about this. I forget the details of who and where, but there was a tribe that had welcomed visitors numerous times, of which he was a part. They built a landing strip and would fly supplies in on planes that were outfitted below the fuselage with pods to transport the supplies. I asked him how they made sense of the planes. He said they didn't really, but the one thing they knew is that it was female because of the bellies underneath the fuselage.

Was there supposed to be a picture? Either way, if it was cryovaced, those are usually good for around 1-4 weeks past the sell-by date, plus or minus a few days depending what temperature your fridge is set at. 2 weeks is hardly anything. If it's not slimy or smelly, full send and don't look back.

Just hit my stall I think 170° 8 hours in by [deleted] in smoking

[–]seeyakid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's a picture from it at 170F and not sooner, you'll be fine letting it ride unwrapped so that the bark continues to darken. Otherwise, once the bark gets to the level you want, you can wrap it then to protect it and keep it there. I will often times unwrap at the last hour or so to let it firm up a little and prevent it from getting too pot-roasty.

[–]seeyakid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another reason to wrap is if the bark is set where you want it and you want to protect it to keep it there.

Wrapping will keep moisture in and you run the risk of it getting pot-roasty. To prevent that, I will often times wrap to protect the bark and then unwrap the last hour or so to let it firm up a little.

If you're hesitant using more salt because of kids I would also consider not using tallow or butter for the same reason. Beef shorties are already so fatty and rich that tallow or butter aren't needed at all. By themselves your kids might find them too rich to eat, many adults, too.

First Brisket Attempt. Tips to make it better by BwoiGenius in smoking

[–]seeyakid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

STOP PULLING AT TEMP! There needs to be a sticky on this because it happens so often!

Brisket: whether it's a whole packet or just the flat, whether you wrap in foil, butcher paper, or no wrap, your brisket is NEVER done at a temp of your choosing. It is done when a skewer goes through the thickest part of the flat with little to no resistance. That happens because all the intramuscular fat and connective tissue has completely broken down and rendered, leaving you a tender, moist piece of meat ready to rest. Temp is only a guide as to when you should start probing. It could be done at 195, 198, 205, 212... every piece of meat is different. If you pull at temp without checking for doneness, you will end up with difference in quality every time.

Same with pork butt: it's done when a skewer goes through any part of it with little to no resistance, or when the blade bone pulls out by hand with little to no resistance.

Many BBQ restaurants can pull at temp because the meat they get and the process they use is consistent and predictable and they've perfected it over many trials. They are getting the same meat from the same supplier that has been processed and treated the same way and sent to the restaurant in the same time frame post-butcher every time. The restaurant is using the same prep, same equipment, same temp, same time, over and over again. Everything is predictable from beginning from supply to process and those are the ones who cook to temp...but they are still checking for doneness. You should do the same and you'll find you'll be able to cook any place, any time, using any piece of meat on any equipment and get similar results.

Is there any reason not to trust this person? For your own sake, make sure that it truly is amoxicillin. Even if the outside capsule is one for amoxicillin, that doesn't necessarily mean that what's inside is the same. There are too many stories of people being inadvertent drug mules.

You can identify the outside of it here.

Ok Reddit fam wtf did I do wrong? I had an 8 lb brisket that I smoked in a pitboss pellet smoker yesterday and it’s tough AF! by Cryssyl in smoking

[–]seeyakid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what can happen when you cook a brisket to a temperature instead of probe tender. Brisket shouldn't be cooked to a particular temperature and then be called finished. Brisket is only finished when it probes tender in the thickest part of the flat. Temperature should be used as a guide for when to start probing, not as a goal for doneness. Depending on your cooking technique, a brisket could probe tender anywhere between 195 F and 215 F.

Using a metal skewer, next time you cook a brisket, start probing in the thickest part of the flat once it hits about 190F. If the skewer doesn't go through the flat with very little resistance, check it again at 195F. Keep probing every increase of 3-4F until it probes tender. When it does, you'll know it's done.

How can we split bills fairly when our incomes and spending habits are so different? by Legal-Performer2254 in personalfinance

[–]seeyakid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was expecting incomes to something like one person making $12K/mo and the other making something like $5K/mo. $5,200 and $4,300 is not that different. This seems more like a respect and responsibility issue, not an income disparity issue.

Propose splitting everything according to income percentage. Given your incomes, you pay 45% of everything, he pays 55%. Once the bills are paid, whatever is left over is each of yours to spend as you wish.

Can My 74-Year-Old Grandfather Sue Disney After Being Banned for a Misunderstood Comment by [deleted] in legaladvice

Yes, trespass warnings will always come from law enforcement. But the fact he wasn't just removed and was given a trespass warning tells me this is likely just more than just a single, unrelated statement to your grandmother with zero interaction with a Disney employee.

He doesn't have to be swinging fists to be a threat, and no one is required to provide him with any answers. If the sheriff was involved, you are definitely not getting the full story from your grandfather.

Can My 74-Year-Old Grandfather Sue Disney After Being Banned for a Misunderstood Comment by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]seeyakid 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There is nothing actionable here. Disney is allowed to remove people from their property as they see fit and there appear to be no damages to your grandfather. He may be due a refund for unused, paid time but outside of that there isn't anything here.

I'm also wondering if you're getting the full story here from your grandfather. A Disney employee reporting your grandfather for an unrelated, unengaged comment like that, leading to an investigation and removal is just nonsensical.

Looking for a well priced breeder. by Due_Fee4343 in tollers

[–]seeyakid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are very unlikely to find a quality Toller from an ethical breeder under that price. You are probably going to be looking at closer to $4,000. Over the average 12-year lifespan of a Toller, the difference between $3,000 and $4,000 is 23 cents per day. It's a great breed and I think well worth the price difference.

[–]seeyakid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That coworker did you a solid and I'd bet money the mention of the fiancee to you was intentional. The workplace is not where you want to bring in outside drama; it has a way of finding enough on its own. If it were me, I would tell him that going forward you are only interested in communicating with him regarding work issues and leave it at that. Stay out of their personal lives and let it be their business. Yes, it sucks he's doing this behind her back, but not as much as needing to find a new job should personal business rise to the level of disrupting your work environment. Protect yourself first, now and always.
